you made sound weak on the factory intake by taking it easy on the gas pedal but guy sri are a pice of shit...they are good when you first run you car in the morning.. once the engine gets hot you feel your car weak as fuck ...cai and iven the factory one is better than fuckins SRIs...in i got dyno runs to prove it.
You think way too much. Why would an intake throw a CEL or give idle problems? Worst thing that could happen is you hydrolock the engine, or suck in hot air from the engine using an SRI.
Heck, intakes don't even give a noticeable power gain. I'd get one just to enchant the 'vtec' kick noise.
shit ive been a mech for 10 years my 08 si has the factory box minus rear obstruction and hard pipe that box was designed to pull the right amount of UNHEATED air in to me cai are rip offs sorry guys dont hate on me i just know from alot of wasted money and trial and error
@08si138 proof's in the numbers man. an si can run a 14.8 at best stock, but i/h/e can bring it all the way down to low 14's and even 13's. its gotta be doin somethin right...
ppl allways talk bout cai n hydro locking actually the cai is so well conceived that no water can get to it unless u go cutting shit....i got cai n trust me i made sure there were no cracks n hole for water n u can allways customize some kind of sheild if u r that worries but power n sound wise cai is da way to go
Nah man, SRI and CAE don't void the warranty, but if you get hydrolock, you're screwed, because it's an aftermarket part. That's why I went with a SRI, just to be on the safe side
Ya no voiding of warranty. you gain a lil more hp with a CAI but I didn't want to worry about all the possible problems with a CAI. with in the month I will be sending out my throttle body to king motor sports to have it bored out. that should make up the hp differance. I'll prolly make a video on that as well. The best intake ive ever had was my comptec SRI w/ icebox on my EK civic. Ice man was another bad ass CAI I had one my EK at one time. thick plastic that didn't get hot and wide.

I have a same car also. I just install a AEM CAI and a greddy ti-c exhaust. I am so glad with the result.
