  • I would just like to say that this plant would normally be safe against most disasters (no plant is indestructible) The thing that worries me is the amount of nuclear waste stored there. Originally it was all supposed to be moved to the Yucca Mountains Storage Facility, but it was cancelled by the Obama administration. We need to push for this storage facility to be build it! Not just for us who live in San Clemente, but for the entire country, because as of right now all waste is stored onsite

  • For terrorists nothing is easier than to kill a nuc plant.

But already the people planning nuc plants are terrorists.

The only purpose of a nuc plant in an earthquake zone is a genocide.

To have sufficient power there are a lot of other ways:

The energy payback time for wind turbines is about only two to six months.

then it has generated as much energy as to its production, transportation, construction, operation was needed. Your city can make local cheaper providers.

  • Having driven past it a 1,000,000 times, I have to say the San Onofre plant is the prefect target for terrorists. I'm I the only one who thinks this?

  • It would be nice to know who the speakers are.

  • If it was about generating electricity, the problems could be solved. It's not. It's about a few people making money, even if it costs millions of other people's lives. It isn't rocket science. In our society money is valued and life is not. The billionaires have a bureaucracy set up, called a government, to handle the idiots who think that billionaires might give a damn about a few million lives, when there is money to be made. They'll wring every last dime out of San Onofre until it melts down
