@vulkan654 its not that theyre stuck with it, its that sc2 isnt refined. Peopel are still bad at it (ask any of the pros, theyll say no one is really "good" at it yet, not even nestea/MC/etc), and more importantly the game hasnt been fully released...were just now getting hots units and we still have w.e LotV brings us. They know BW wont change, but sc2 is still going to have dramatic changes
savior is very good player and i still think he can compete today with S class players, boxer dominated before 2005 and savior dominated the scene in 2006. savior is a match fixer so this game is most probably rigged

@marcocmh Correct me if im wrong, but doesnt the goliath's air attack do 50% damage against light units (mutalisk) which only does like 10? per hit (unless upgrade) and mutas does 9? with glave bounce. If both units were to be massed the mutas would've win. (With out micro ofc)

@LiezAllLiez mass muta is a great counter to gol, since gols do half dmg to light. The vid is mainly actually savi0r's fail micro instead of boxer's amazing micro...boxer spreaded out his units and continually attack moved, while savi0r just kinda went in there and was like watever.
It's pretty obvious that Gol's aren't good against Mutalisks even if you don't know how to play starcraft. The girls only cheer when Boxer's situation is favorable. When the Muts came in they were silent. This meant that Muts are a good counter toward Gols. But due to Boxer's superior micro and Savior's retreat, the girls resumed to scream because of his obvious triumph against the odds.
to some people who don't understand the game. gols do 1/2 dmg to mutas, not to mention savior had way more mutas than gols. moral of the story: 1. boxer is a god. 2. if anyone is discrediting that then just go die.
He's moving all of his goliaths back at the same time as focus firing the mutalisks, so he's making the mutalisks acquire new targets (Instead of focus firing the goliaths). He's also abusing the range that goliaths have by doing this. This allows his goliaths to stay alive a lot longer and do more damage while waiting for reinforcements to arrive.
@Andnie no they are not! :) Gol have great range even when not upgraded. The price is almost the same compared to total required resources. Mutas damage is also to air so they take some penalty because of this advantage. It's logical that a unit making more dmg to air is better than unit making same amount on air and ground. This game is based on logical balance of units except the vulture with it's armor needing 6 dragoon hits to be killed lmao! Also compare 1 muta vs 1 gol ;p.

@LucaTurilli89 2 things. 1, mutas do only take 1/2 damage from goliaths, and further, in this video, they had +2 armor, so they took even MORE shots to kill.
2. Mutas do a LOT of damage, significantly more than people give them credit for. The glave worm will hit and do damage to up to 3 targets if they're close enough together. Granted, the damage goes down by 1 each hit, but having ~20 muta doing that much damage causes pain.
The problem was Savior didn't target fire, and Boxer did.
@kartriders95 Fro, 0:25-0:33, that was at least partial target firing. I counted at least 5 target fires and one or two move/patrols. Without the target firing it might not have come out as it did.
@commandopengi Goliaths have longer range, mutas have a range of 3. while goliaths are around 7. Therefore able to fire roughly 2 shots while mutas have to get closer just to fire once.
It is impressive because Boxer moved back and fired, while Savior just a-moved. Notice how how mutalisks had to move and attack separately (time spent moving is time spent not attacking), while Boxer moved and attacked at the same time, turning a losing battle into a winning one. Also, moving backwards makes muta's AI acquire new targets, thus preventing his goliaths from dying from Focus Fire.
Goliaths are only good against big Air like BCs or Carriers. MnM/SVs is better and cheaper v Mutalisks
Apparently no one gets it. I don't even play Starcraft and I know that Goliaths do low damage to Mutalisks. Saying that Goliath is "anti-air" is a very narrow view of the unit and displays a lack of knowledge regarding armor type.
I know its late but Goliaths are actually not that good against Mutas. Their damage is weakened since mutas have light armor, and not heavy type which the goliaths are good with. Best to have marine medic force with stim and range upgrade to counter mutas
both sc and war are awesome its like melee and shooting units strategy ..also in sc units have much less hp than atack power and untis moove much faster ..so every shot means ALOT ..on sc theres close to no such thing as slowing unit for others to escape and theres alot of bugs or things working awkward but to wich pro players adapted and used to their profit..they are in core VERy different

He's moving all of his goliaths back at the same time as focus firing the mutalisks, so he's making the mutalisks acquire new targets (Instead of focus firing the goliaths). He's also abusing the range that goliaths have by doing this. This allows his goliaths to stay alive a lot longer and do more damage while waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

Goliaths are better vs mutu and it is logical! Gol makes better damage to air and mutu makes the same for ground :).

@LucaTurilli89 Actually mutas are fine against Gol... since Mutas are small units, and goliath therefore only does ½ damage against mutas.

@Andnie no they are not! :) Gol have great range even when not upgraded. The price is almost the same compared to total required resources. Mutas damage is also to air so they take some penalty because of this advantage. It's logical that a unit making more dmg to air is better than unit making same amount on air and ground. This game is based on logical balance of units except the vulture with it's armor needing 6 dragoon hits to be killed lmao! Also compare 1 muta vs 1 gol ;p.

Many progamers use their mutalisks to attack goliath... and this video shows it... Savior almost won that battle.... but Boxers nice goliath micro saved him the loss.
Lately Jaedong just won against light in at pure goliath vs mutalisk battle.

@LucaTurilli89 2 things. 1, mutas do only take 1/2 damage from goliaths, and further, in this video, they had +2 armor, so they took even MORE shots to kill.
2. Mutas do a LOT of damage, significantly more than people give them credit for. The glave worm will hit and do damage to up to 3 targets if they're close enough together. Granted, the damage goes down by 1 each hit, but having ~20 muta doing that much damage causes pain.
The problem was Savior didn't target fire, and Boxer did.

@kartriders95 Fro, 0:25-0:33, that was at least partial target firing. I counted at least 5 target fires and one or two move/patrols. Without the target firing it might not have come out as it did.

@commandopengi Goliaths have longer range, mutas have a range of 3. while goliaths are around 7. Therefore able to fire roughly 2 shots while mutas have to get closer just to fire once.

It is impressive because Boxer moved back and fired, while Savior just a-moved. Notice how how mutalisks had to move and attack separately (time spent moving is time spent not attacking), while Boxer moved and attacked at the same time, turning a losing battle into a winning one. Also, moving backwards makes muta's AI acquire new targets, thus preventing his goliaths from dying from Focus Fire.
Goliaths are only good against big Air like BCs or Carriers. MnM/SVs is better and cheaper v Mutalisks

Apparently no one gets it. I don't even play Starcraft and I know that Goliaths do low damage to Mutalisks. Saying that Goliath is "anti-air" is a very narrow view of the unit and displays a lack of knowledge regarding armor type.

I know its late but Goliaths are actually not that good against Mutas. Their damage is weakened since mutas have light armor, and not heavy type which the goliaths are good with. Best to have marine medic force with stim and range upgrade to counter mutas

Gols are for anti air, but not for all airs.
Gols do full dmg on toss air and some terran air, but i think 3/4 on light organic airs like zerg mutas....

Actually, it would only do a half, I think. Since the Gol missiles do 1/2 damage to small units, which Mutalisks are.

both sc and war are awesome its like melee and shooting units strategy ..also in sc units have much less hp than atack power and untis moove much faster ..so every shot means ALOT ..on sc theres close to no such thing as slowing unit for others to escape and theres alot of bugs or things working awkward but to wich pro players adapted and used to their profit..they are in core VERy different

To argue which is better is purely childish its like arguing over what type of music genre is better Frankly if you got offended because of the SC would not be where it is now without WC its true, mainly because WC is indeed Blizzards 1st RTS, IDC if you like SCoverWC because I play both and love both so to debate is simply a waste of time
Another fact is the ability of splitting ETC are merely bugs and limits that SC never intended them and would have never thought SC being played at this lvl

You are absolutely correct. I like to nick name WarCraft III "MagicCraft", because thats all that it is. Not only did they kill the W.C. genre with the 3rd game with those stupid heroes. But many of the heroes and units in the game are really dumb. Like an orc dressed and acting like a samurai warrior? Or the night elves being tree hugging hippies? Oh and lets not forget that now the orcs are just a "misunderstood" noble race who were "corrupted", but are really good underneath. What B.S.

I don't get why people are complaining about SC2 when Blizzard never said they were going to close down BW. I mean if you hate it, just go back to BW.
But I feel like there is going to a huge clash between hardcore BW fans (the original rules) and SC2 fans (it's a revolution)
It also seems like SC2 will not require as much micro, but that does not mean micro is totally useless. For those who think micro is nonexistent, check out SC2 Battle report 3. Force field micro right there.
