That's actually alot better than a scat mat or a shock collar those are inhumane this only blasts air and doesn't cause pain to the animal it just startles them a bit it's not hurting the cat eletric shock collars and mats hurt but using air does not hurt them.

this would be great for my friend....she lets both of the cats walk all over the kitchen counters, licking plates, ect. (kitty litter on the kitchen counters, ewww) THEN she wipes the counters with the sponge used for washing the dishes & proceeds to cook. she wonders why i'm so OCD in her kitchen. gross, gross, gross. i love cats, but they do NOT belong on the kitchen counter!

@lostintracy I couldn't agree more. I love my kitten, but I do not want him wandering around where I prepare food. Not to mention there's the stove, my tea cups and such. People who let their cats do whatever they feel like really need to wake up. Disciplining them, especially like this when they don't get hurt, is part of life. I'm really going to look into this product.

I use this product also to train my cats off the counters/table. It is a completely non-harmful way to train your cat. Nothing toxic, nothing hateful. It is AIR. I love my cats and allow them pretty much everywhere. They sleep with my husband and I or our kids. What is unsanitary is allowing them on the eating/food preparation surfaces. Kudos to you for using a product that works well and is not harmful in any way!

@Kathrine890 - This cat is SERIOUSLY pampered by Mr. Hubukai and neither one of us would ever do anything to harm him; but with this logic, I shouldn't have bothered to train him at all; I should just let him go to the bathroom wherever he wants and let him hop on the counter and eat the Thanksgiving turkey while it rests. If I was a guest in someone's home and their cat was on the counter tops, I would not eat there. I expect that my guests hold the same sanitation standards.

@Kathrine890 - many people disagree on methods of parenting (day care, medications, etc.) or pet training (crates, shock collars, etc.) - doesn't make any one of them bad people. There are people in this world that do despicable things to animals, so I think maybe your focus should be directed towards them and not a family that has used a harmless tool to correct the bad behavior of a beloved pet.

This is approved by vets (some sell the devices), trains them without you (a spray bottle does nothing since it just fears the bottle and you not the action) and doesn't cause any pain to them. But hey, at least we know YOU are the irresponsible pet owner, not training your animals and not caring about cross contamination of the food you eat (I hope you don't have kids since you don't care about sanitation).

Lol this is good. The cats jump on the counter when we're not around, this would work for that I believe. They certainly know not to be on there while we are around, tho--zero tolerance! We see them up there, we yell very loudly, "NO! OFF THE COUNTER!" And sometimes we hit the counter to make our point. They scidaddle. And they know better now--if they're up on that counter when we enter the room, they scram, and QUICK lol. Cats really are smart--but also mischievous.

My one cat still gets on the countertops, and he's gotten stuff out of the cupboards, which is why I had to put safety latches on my overhead cupboards. Although I've tried a motion alarm before, and he still get up there despite setting it off each time. Gotta love them though.

My old cat had it down to a science. She'd make sure nobody was around, jump on the table and hang around until she heard steps on the stairs. You could hear the bump of her jumping off just before you opened the door and she'd be lounging somewhere all innnocent-like.

That, or carefully pulling stuff off the table without touching it if somebody was there.

She died two weeks ago. Rest in peace, old fleabag!
