Great! Love this song am only 24 but every single Christmas my granddad gets his ukulele out does this song even tho he went blind last year still sounds perfect
I think this is a very good performance, for a start not only is your voice very nice and in tune but so is your uke - something a lot of people miss! Keep playing, I look forward to your next video! All the best, Peter.
Thanks for your kindness I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment, great part but if I had that time over again I would try and avoid being executed ha ha ha again thanks John & Keith
To be honest you're really not half bad at all, and the singing is better than a lot I've heard. Keep it up because this is a very good effort. I enjoyed listening.
John, I enjoyed your performance greatly. 'Tis said that music hath charms and, this being so, I'm certain that you have charmed many a heart with your singing and playing. I know you have mine.
John, I enjoyed your performance greatly. 'Tis said that music hath charms, and this being so, I'm sure you have lightened many a heart with your performances. I know you have mine!
John, a critical review if you dont mind. You obviously enjoy playing the uke and to be honest - thats half the battle won! As for the song, well lets be honest, the chords need work in places, not a lot mind and when you're ready to move onto some more complex syncapation methods I'm sure you will. Well done for singing, as with any Formby song you'll never sound like George and good on you for not trying to impersonate. Believe it or not, i started out playing an old Keech just like yours too!
Brillant for taking the time to make some very accurate observations I guess I am like many guitarst trying to play the Banjolele I couldn't play all the chords and sing at the same time and it will take me time to learn the correct struming again thanks John
Dunno about 'learning' - you've got this one in the bag, John! Great voice BTW, good rhythmic style and you've not resorted to doing an obvious impression of Formby. All in all a great performance. Nice one!
I cant tell you how much I appreciate your kind comment, when I saw the email from you; I thought you were going to say I was crap, again thanks you have made an old fart happy
Hi thanks for the kind comment and the proper name is BanjoLele same tuning as a Yukele where as a Banjo I believe is open chord its actually a Ketch 1903
Love it John! Isn't that a banjo? I'm really getting into the ukelele recently, I might have to buy myself one. I think it's that Jake Shimabukuro guy that got me into it. Search youtube for 'while my ukelele gently weeps' to hear his best. I think it was recorded in central park NY. Anyway great stuff, keep them coming. By the way, you have to put more HNDY1 videos up, just checked your CSCI1412 account.
Thanks for the kind comment its great that your Granddad please the Ukulele regards John & Keith

Pretty good =]. That uke's not a C model Keech, is it? I have one of those her, they're pretty good little ukes.
As an aside, it might amuse you to know that I have acted as Giles Corey!
