  • i think it is him

  • those 9 people that disliked this video is heartless...

  • I'm a little shocked that there was anything left to identify... I'm sorry if that's gross or cruel sounding..but falling from such a height...there couldn't have been much left. These poor souls... I'm so glad someone is telling their story.

  • I watched the whole documentary and I have decided that these people took control of their lives at the very moment it was about to be lost. I don't see it as suicide as the Hernandez family did; only two choices remained - let my family have a body to grieve over, or return to dust in the fire. For many it was fear and desperation that led them to jump, but not a suicide, because they knew they would die regardless. My deepest sympathies to all that lost someone on that tragic day.

  • what a bittersweet choice, to know that you are going to die, but yet you can choose not to burn alive, or not to be crushed or suffocated alive in the tower, that you could jump and end it all in an instant.

  • Well now I understand the story of the falling man. RIP

  • @67tr876

So have you changed your mind about the comment that you left for me on the previous video?

  • @langsense I am one of the guys who are quick to think and go over it so am sorry about that I now see what the mean and it does help play a role in telling the story but if I was in that building I would find a gun and put it to my head. NO way would I jump I would rather burn.

  • You know what everyone... I'm not a religious man or nothin but I hope with all my heart this man went to heaven. Rest my brother

  • GOD does not have to give proof nor evidence on HIS existence.,its either you believe in HIM or you Don't.It's not a subject to debate on.

For me GOD is real and i do believe in HIM,,GOD bless those who perished.

  • @68541l god made em perish

  • I know that Jonathon is the jumper in the photo! I know it in my heart! its him, God rest his soul!

  • Seeing the documentary and seeing all the emotions and reactions, hearing the believes the sorrow but also the outrage. Some of the footage concerns the belief in god and how it connects to the falling man. Believe in god can be so beautiful. Everybody that truly believes that god exists should also know that the way how to belief in him has been told through time by those that think they know how god would want us to belief in him/her.

God would never impose any rules on the desperate...

  • This may be alitle late but

R.I.P for all who died that day

  • The falling was black and Johnathan looked closed to it than anything.

  • we have to figure out who we are

  • Personally; if I try to imagine the person I love the most being in a situation where they had a choice to die from the horrific blaze and smoke and fumes of plastic ect burning or sailing through the air and then an unconscious fast end-I know what image leaves me most at peace and it the latter. It is strange for me to think of this as a cowards end when I find it empowering that you are taking that choice in your own hands. They had such a small amount of control that day except maybe this.

  • Never consider these fallen angels as commiting suicide- This is simply - Self Perseverance. Rest in Peace <3

  • it's weird how they make it look like it was bad to jump like suicide . If I was in a situation Either I burn or I jump I will take my last chance who know if someone will catch me but my body may be found , If i stay I burn but the last option is jump So I think they try up to the end .So personally I think it was very coragouse to jump and also unselfish for their familly so at least they could know that the body would be found . does who feel was suicide are really crazy . it was hope

  • the most painful part of these videos for me is every time religion is brought up, and the family members' judgment of how their loved one died based on their arbitrary ideas about religion

  • i almost freaking cried watching these videos

  • "i hope we are not trying to figure out who he his, but who we are." wow

  • this video shouldnt enduce a fight if god is true or not but let us realize how fragile life is and that we need to live our lives the best we can because life can be taken away at any moment. RIP to every one who died and the family members that had to go through this. Oh and there is a god.

  • I cried and I think no one person deserve a dead like this one; falling or in the building. R.I.P for the souls died in the The World Trade Centre.... God bless their families.

  • Great video. So sad this. I remember when this happened, watching it; I feel so bad for all those families who suffer because of this.

  • God be with all those who are lonely and suffer, and those who love them.

  • 10 years... I am 28 now, and I can still feel the emotion as fresh as it was and I was half-way around the world when this terror was unleashed. I will never forget 9/11 and the people who died will forever be honored and remembered. And to the heroes of 9/11, you are an inspiration.

  • @punctualbird shut the fuck up, dude. Everyone has the right to believe in what they want.

  • @TheSonicHog you couldnt say it better :)

  • Seriously who watches this tragic video, then dislikes it?? I dont get it.

  • Religious people die all time. And me who never believed in god is having good life. life works in funny way

  • 0:51 - Is one of the twin towers behind him?

  • Although it is painful to watch, i think this glorifies the life upon the death. Many people died but thankfully there were more that survived to this terrible act. This is a remarkable decision they took, and theres no way someone would jump without knowing the consequences of it, so i feel good to know these people, the jumpers, found a way to enjoy their lives in their final 10 second journey before death. God bless them!

  • Sounds to me like he was positively identified, but I like what his sister had to say about it. Now it's time we knew what really happened that day. The full truth would be the best way to honor our victorious dead.

  • I think Johnathan's sister is a person with a great perspective and clarity. I think she knows her brother well enough to realize he loved live and would never commit suicide. She's even able to get past the event and look at the bigger picture and meaning of it all. I think she's great and I imagine her brother was too.

  • I could't help but cry. This's beyond sad. "Sad" is an understatement. RIP to the man, the rest of the people who jumped, and the people who lost their lives that day.

Agree with the lasting words from the video:

"The image didn't insult those who died. Rather, it was a fitting and just memorial to them because it forced the world to acknowledge and remember the terrible events of that day."

RIP to all of them again.

  • All all its worth- I rather see the video and not the stupid commnents posted.

  • A gift from God? His shoe really? How about sparing his life indead?

  • God doesn't exist and never did. These comments are ruining the video, and the woman talking needs to get some mental help.

  • @wiibot15 I agree.Lets just assume for a moment he did exist. The idea that you can hold him responsible for all the good in the world but non of the bad makes no sense. It's like giving a coach credit for a team's wins but no blame for their lose. She says a gift from God.That would be like me doing nothing to stop someone from getting killed when I did infact have the power but after the person dies I give his relatives his shoes.Seriously that is a gift?

  • @wiibot15 Trololol. Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @wiibot15 you wouldent understand if you tryed,,,2 inches to the left we would freeze..2 inches to the right we would burn,,everythings too perfect on earth, and for that you still wouldent understand..we live then we die,,thats all we know,,but i know theres something waiting for us when we die

  • @wiibot15 It is because of people like youu that the world is seriously messed up. If everyone in the world just let people believe in whatever religion they wanted to believe, maybe we might actually have some peace. I am tired of wars with religion as a cause. Let Christians be Christians, Catholics be Catholics, Muslims be Muslims, Buddhists be Buddhists and so on. We can deal with the real harm (hence the word "real") when it comes. That is all I have to say.

  • ty so much for a beautiful video. during the series, i came to the conclusion that the identity was not the important issue,. He is the stmbol of all the victims that chose, for what ever reason, to take control of their last moments. and we are not to judge. they are the true sense of brave. Rest In Peace, you will always have a place in my heart.

  • OK, will if the younger brother witness the body of his dead brother... didn't he notice the color of his brother's shirt & pants? That wasn't mentioned at all, or maybe I missed it. And the falling man would be on ground as all of the other bodies- they found, wouldn't it??? It doesn't make sense, this is bullshit!! As if they don't know who he is...

  • @alottaUtube think about it bodys falling from that height would instantly splatter not to mention the building falling with debree,,it would be immpossible to identify the bodies

  • God has nothing to do with this. We people are doing this to ourselves!!!! Lets cut the crap and have a world of peace. @punctualbird its people like you that we are living this way. A world of self distruction

  • May all the people who died in 9/11 rest in peace and may the families find comfort someday. God Bless You All!

  • when the Almighty God is ready to pour his judgment i will feel for most of you guys on here

  • Thank you for doing this, it must have been very hard to see this project through to the end. I was moved greatly. And for the people who would condemn the soul of this falling man due to religion. Lets not forget this man, and everyone who died that day were murdered. Not one of them took their own life.

  • death is not always so black and white. If "god" is to condemn someone to hell for eternity because they decided to jump instead of burn to death, then I wouls say either their misintepreting the bible, or maybe religion is silly.

  • @maranfilms I believe people are as you say, "misintepreting the bible". Nowhere does it say this.

  • There's no such thing as God. I'm not jaded or anything. It's just that rational observance dictates no other conclusion. We all know Santa's not real, right? Same for God.

  • @punctualbird

    Santa's not real? No way!!

  • @punctualbird Then it must be a matter of perspective, as I look at something as simple as a pomegranate and think one little seed is a wonder in design that could only be created by something magnificently intelligent.

  • @punctualbird Prove it. You don't know that as a fact anymore then anyone else.

  • @punctualbird god is a alien he is not real never was everyone that worships him are idiots

  • @punctualbird I completely agree.

  • @punctualbird ah, the question. Certainly looking at the world with ones eyes most people would come to this conclusion. But I believe rationality has nothing to do with it. Because with those same eyes one could come to the oposite conclusion. There are reasons to 'rationaly' not believe but there are 'rational' reasons why people believe. I understand both conclusions but let's not kid ouselves. You would have to know everything in order to if God does or doesnt exist.

  • @punctualbird Why is it so hard for people to let others believe in God. its part of what makes us different and unique, this world would really suck if we were all the same.

  • what does this have to do with the Falling Man? Take your atheist, science, rational believin ass to another video, you make me sick..

  • @ElDoomTaco

Actually, it's not up to you who posts. The comment may not have anything to do with the falling man himself. But God and religion have been mentioned many times under this video.. and is also part of the subject of the video.. Anyone can post here as long as they keep it relatively civil and it's not spam.

  • @ElDoomTaco everybody is entitled to an opinion bud, I love and believe in God but he has the right to say anything he wants :D

  • @punctualbird

I can debate all day about this. There is PLENTY of evidence for a God, and, logically, there is no possible way a God cannot be real. The universe either had a beginning or didnt, the only explanation is that it did, or it's illogical, if it had a beginning, was it caused? if not, then did it ust spring out of nowhere? was the event caused by another event, or a personal being? If it was caused by another event, then it's not the beginning is it? So if it's a personal being...

  • @punctualbird

....then there must be a God!

  • @Powerlight958

    What the what now?

  • 911 WTC , l' EXPERTISE definitive 2011

    Search for it

  • @punctualbird What have you observed that you can use as evidence against God's existence?

  • @punctualbird So Jesus was made up? His words were made up? He died and came back not true? Even though there are facts that prove it its not about the facts. Why dont you try to talk to God. You gotta want it though. You have to believe. Your choice.

  • @punctualbird its hard to prove the sun to a blind person as well...

  • @punctualbird respect to your atheist belief, but I believe in God, not in the man that taught his way, Also i did not describe my God.. He is a higher power, The reason why i said that? because saying "theres no such thing as God" is like me saying "Americans are better than Chinese.." its not a fact, just an opinion, a controversial opinion to be exact.. Thank you for not saying "god" and capitalizing the word of my savior.

  • @punctualbird Our loving God is 100% real!

  • Indeed I agree with you =)

  • @punctualbird Don't disrespect the people of 9/11 these families haven't lost hope that they will see there son again one day... I am not a strong believer but don't mess with others beliefs.

  • @punctualbird its better worshiping a god and finding out threres not than not worshiping a god and finding out there is one. the war is comeing. goodnight

  • @therealdill11 true :D

  • @punctualbird why do you get to go around telling people what to believe

  • I just wonder what he was thinking as he was falling????? Maby someday i will be-able to ask him.

  • I can't imagine the pain the familes and partners would feel if they knew these photos were the images of the last moments of their loved ones lives. I put myself in their shoes and imagined myself looking at these photos. I can't think of anything harder than knowing that your wife/husband/father/mother/son/daughter went through such distress to have to do such a thing. So sad.

  • What a great video, I didnt quiet understand at the beginning, but I think I get it now. Unfortunately, the video stops playing for me at 2:10

  • @souleracing

Just checked and it is working. Unfortunately YT has the odd weird day and videos stop for no reason. Try it again tomorrow, i'm sure it will be fine.

  • thank you for uploading this, doing a research paper on it, truly a painful yet memorable time in history

from the beginning of the video i kept thinking to myself what's the point of discovering the identify of the falling man? we should only be trying to group from this point in history and commemorate the improbable decisions that the people had to make. and to my surprise the message did get passed at the end of the documentary :)

  • @xmyco

Good luck with your paper. :-)

  • Godspeed and God Bless falling man.

  • ISLAM did 911

  • @thejihadresistance no US did and mind some muslims also died in WTC IDIOT !

  • 9/11 ALL IN HEAVEN

  • This is hard to decide whetever like it or dislike it.

  • @NgJackal1990

    You like it

    like it

    like it

    like it

    or not.

  • @langsense If like this, I show disrespect to these people. If dislike this, I show disrespect to the owner's. Plus like can be saved in the main file of my channel.

  • @NgJackal1990

There are many ways to do this and I can understand your problem. People have said they've disliked the video because the video is talking about a horrible day which cost thousands of lives. My answer to them is that the video is talking about something that needs to be discussed and in many ways and it does it well. If you dislike the film because of it's subect matter then don't watch. If you think the film is well made but the subject disturbs you then 'like' it but

  • @langsense - does it need to be discussed though now.....really? i think yes for the families of those who lost loved ones, however i think we have sensationalized this way too much and we need to work on closure.. it's 10 years on now, i think there is way too much stuff on youtube about the whole event and the type of commenting going on is only propagating MORE HATE in this world... the conspiracy videos etc maybe it's time to start thinking about healing?

  • @NgJackal1990

share your views on the comments section.

If you dislike the video because it is not well made or thought out then 'dislike' it.

I hope I've helped. Probably not. If you're not sure still, then do nothing.

  • R.I.P falling man!!!! Your HOME!!

  • RIP

  • theres something strange about seeing someones last moments its agonizing and surreal, how quickly a life can be taken

  • This was extraordinary. Thank you for making it available!

  • from 4:29 - 4:49 made me sick to watch.

    :'(

  • this brought tears to my eyes. To know this poor man along with others suffered death is such a horrific way and so publicy is just mind numbing. And,it makes it all the more sad to know who he was, may he RIP along with all the other victims

  • What an impossible situation to find yourself in.

  • In my opinia, you've got to have a huge courage to take that decision...to jump..this man, like all the others...are some kind of rare heros...it's just too much for us to understand...RIP and sorrys and regrets from Romania!

  • This has to be one of the most powerful and moving documentary I have ever seen .. The lady at the end, her words are so true.. it does not matter who the falling man was.. I respect him and his decision and the decison of the rest of the other jumpers. That is the way they felt they needed to go. They did not have much of choice. Glod bless them and to all that lost their lives on 9/11. All are heroes in my book no matter if they jumped or not.

  • Very moving and emotional to watch!

  • What a very touching and meaningful tribute to all of the fallen. Very well done. God Bless

  • This was the BEST documentary I've ever seen! I pray for ALL the victims and thier families.... ...And I'm glad they stopped calling them "jumpers"...These ppl were facing being BURNED ALIVE.....and I'm praying, and hope that those old addage proves true that your heart stops in an instance like this....

  • Honestly a hard thing to watch after engrossing myself in 9/11 today, I sort of feel like I have been punched in the stomach, but thank you for posting it, very good documentary... Rest in peace to all victims of this tragedy and peace to the world.

  • I would have jumped...

  • This video, I will show to my son that was 5 when this happen, I remenber what happen that day, now I told him what happen, so he can told his children... so we all remenber for ever and ever. This person did not jump, he free him self , he jump in to the arms of God, bless his soul. Thank you.

  • - Wow.. No Words Can Describe How I Feel Right Now. R.I.P Everyoone Who Died In 9/11 You Will ALL Be Remembered Forever

  • No matter how the victims died, nor the convictions of the loved ones left behind, not for one second do I believe that those beautiful souls went anywhere but straight to Heaven. God bless them all. Gwendolyn spoke from her heart for all of us and I thank her for that. Thank you langsense for posting this, it was needed.

  • Whoever he was, he has taught me choice and bravery. It appeared his wounds on the right side where serious. He wanted to be found, not knowing the entire building would collapse. RIP falling man, you have taught us well.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • RIP to the nearly 3000 innocents that lost their lives 10 years ago on 9/11/01. They will NEVER be forgotten.

God bless them all † ♥

  • damm a relly stared to cry when a saw this ,its really sad

  • Thank you for this langsense.

  • AWESOME!!! Based on the sister's words, I am almost CONVINCED that it was him. He "knew that God would catch him"...that statement makes the pill a bit easier to swallow. God bless his memory, the memory of all others who perished, and GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!

  • You know I find that picture completely heartbreaking. This guy was a normal man, going to work on a normal day, and he found himself in a situation where the only way out was to jump out of a 100 story building to his death. I think that picture should represent that day, because it alone tells us just how horrible it was.

  • im really sensitive although i never show it because of my personality, watching this documentary definetly bringt tears to my eyes, i was nine when this hapened and remember watching it on my aunt's tv unlike many children nowadays i didnt have the notion of what dieng is, even that way, i found the building collapsing a terrifieng vision,i dont even want to imagine what it is like being there.

i hope those ppl will always be remembered for how they lived, not because of how they died

  • And also, at 4:32, is that 'the falling man' ?

  • @steezenuggets Yes.

  • The part were they showed the guy falling impact me so much ! just the thought of what was going through his mind its heartbreaking.. i couldn't hold my cry ..no one should suffer the way people did on 9/11 ... this documentary is one of the best and one of the most intense .

  • That whole series was very moving. Thank you for uploading. I am going to watch The Fireman's Story tomorrow. I can only take so much of this at once.

  • I was wondering, when those did fall out of the World Trade Center and hit impact did anyone go and get the bodies? I am just curious I in no means mean this in a mean way. I am just wondering...

  • Just imagine how they must of went through their whole life, through happy moments with their family and friends, while they were falling down and also for the people that didn't fall down, but knew that either ways it would be the last moments of their lives. :( R.I.P

  • Wow I honor the men and women who took the time to make and share there thoughts on 911. God Bless the Families who have lost and who and still living today.

  • What a beautifully done, heart wrenching documentary. Thank you for sharing this.

  • so jonathan is the falling man?

  • May he and he many hundreds that lost their lives that day rest in peace xxxxxxx

  • She said, "Did that person have so much faith that he knew God would catch him……….." That statement made me shout and praise God for his love and mercy. We are suppose to live our lives for God, so whatever decisions you have to make you make with God's help. Making this kind of decision is not ever easy nor is it something one wants to do, but if you ever have to make such a decision in your life, you make it with God.

  • @buttafli5881 like making a decision to fly a plane into a building full of civilians for your god. I don't want to sound callous, but religion is exactly what caused this.

  • @lngdngslvr1 It wasnt Religion that caused this event. Religion really has little to do with terrorist attacks or wars as we think they would. But after much study in college you begin to learn that its over basic things. Money, Power, Land and of coarse, Pussy.

  • @buttafli5881

if your god is so almighty and lovin' maybe things like this wouldnt happen.

Unless of course there is no god.

  • I know this is off topic of the story and it could be innapropriate but when the guy says "Unknown soldier" Does he mean the aussie one or do you americans have one aswell?

  • @dodea4

Quite a few countries have a 'unknown soldier'. UK, USA,, France and as you mentioned, Australia.

  • @langsense Oh Okay thanks for that.

  • @langsense

    Germany got a " unknown soldier "

  • @MrTheEvilgerman

I think every country that took part in a world war has a 'unknown oldier'.

  • @langsense yes greece has too

  • @langsense not necessarily world war, any war really

  • @langsense Canada has one with a massive monument in ottawa

  • @dodea4 Thank you for uploading this series it truly captures the Human tragedy of the event.

  • @dodea4 When I think of the tomb of the unknown soldier it makes me think of the Arch de Triumph in France. There is a feeling standing there by the eternal flame everyone should have. It's very true for me.

  • @OwlsGoRawr

owls say hoot. That's two things you're wrong about now.

  • what a terrible way to die..having to choose between burning to death and jumping off a skyscraper.. 4:25 - 4:55 was very painful to watch..wonder what thoughts were running through his mind at those last moments of his life. R.I.P. Jonathan and the others who passed away on that fateful day.

  • @luckystar00845 Horrific isn't it, really struggled with watching the episodes, but yes, that moment...you can't even begin to imagine...

  • If God interfered with every bad thing, he would not be God, but a monster. Our free will would be destroyed and we'd be nothing but robots. In order to test the state of who we are, we must face evil. That's why He allows it. But He is always in control. Evil human beings are to blame. However, Out of every evil thing though comes the good if we trust God. Also from Gods perspective death is not the end, but the beginning. These people are in another plane of existence.

  • The Falling Man embodies not only the horror of that day but also the strength & beauty of the human spirit to determine their own course despite attempts to take control of it by others.

"And you, my father, there on the sad height,

Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light..."

~ Dylan Thomas (Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night)

  • This is a place to share our love, our grief and our loss. Do not focus on the comments of the ignorant. There is enough that divides. Come together. Never forget

  • Rest in peace falling man . :'(

  • Maybe ALL people should give up this religious bullshit . The miracle was identifying the body? How about letting him skip work that day, or maybe preventing this in the first place.

When are people going to wake up?!?

  • My heart sunk when I saw Johnathan smiling and standing in front of the window, almost like your heart knows when faced with truth.

  • R.I.P. Jonathan briley and all the others. They are all "The Falling Man"

Please share this video with everybody, people need to know this story for too long it's been kept in the dark.

  • "a gift from god" no a gift from god would be stopping the planes from hitting the WTC. i cant stand all this "god bless..." shit, if god was real do you really think he'd let this happen? no, he wouldnt. unless he's a sick bastard and likes to see his "creations" suffer.

  • @OwlsGoRawr boy.. you really know little about the Christian faith dude.. Read the book of genesis.. Man created sin for himself. Adam and Eve.. you might have heard of it.. You think God is some kind of bully that enjoys people suffer? No.. that would be Satan that enjoys that stuff..

  • @OwlsGoRawr wrong... sorry

  • @OwlsGoRawr sometimes people should be allowed to believe what they want....

  • @OwlsGoRawr the miracle of faith is something that you may not understand.

  • The reality of what they had to go through is so intense that we begin to put ourselves in their situation. Wondering how scared we would be, what are options were, the thought of an inevitable lingering death and pain and never seeing our mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, daughters and sons again. Immediately we have to snap ourselves back out of the situation because the thought of it is just too painful, intense, and scary. But they didn't have this option. NEVER forget.

  • So terrible...

  • Thank you so much for posting this! So tastfully done. A day we should NEVER forget.

  • After hearing Gwenolyn's take on this man, I thought, "Mr. Briley came from thoughtful people." He was her brother in the immediate or the universal sense. Gwendolyn united the two meanings in her overwhelming compassion and the love she showed for that falling man.

She gave him back his power...even in free fall.

  • The people who think that those who fell from the buildings that day had jumped as if it was suicide should watch these videos. More so the interviews towards the start as it sheds light on some of the things these people went through. If they still think bad of the fallers because they were forced out the windows, then they should be locked in a room with an enormous fire and see what happens.

  • It still hurts. Even though it´s 10 years ago now. 10 years, and there is still so much pain and people who suffer, people who get killed in the war in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world, just because of that day. So remarkable what Gwendolyne says between 4:06 and 5:36. We should figure out who we are, who the others are. How to do that? I don´t know. All I know is, there can´t be gratification through war, killing, terror and repayment. So the agony won´t stop, the wounds won´t heal.

  • This god crap is so annoying.

  • cannot I.D. him? The man clearly looked black and both his collegue and sister I.D. him! When there was a chance it could be the Cuban, mulatto guy, the was no doubt it was him. Now you got someone that not only fit the description but was identified as Johnathan, the mystery goes on?LOL. Great documentary though. No wonder....

  • Thank you for posting this

  • Thank you for posting this. It is hard to watch this video (the full video) because it reminds us of the horror that 9/11 brought us, I dont know if he jumped from faith or fear and it propably was a mixture of the two, but my heart breaks for everyone who lost someone that day. Whether they jumped or died.

I was in 12th grade when it happened. I was in school and I thought everyone was joking. I learned that day that no Country is invincible. I hope and pray that they did not suffer long.

    Sam
