Really great duet. Beautifully simple and a lovely melody the way you play it. Truly unique for a Tangerine rendition. I just got a soprano and you continue to inspire a hack like me. Thanks!
Excellent man I;ve been playin sax for a while but I haven;t been able to get to the level I wanna play at, so I hevn't really played in a while. Your videos have inspired me to pick it up again. You've got an awesome tone man keep it up!
Once again you tip the scales. Made interesting discussion for my Year 11's. All loved it. I'm converting 16 year old 'Slip Knot' fans into jazz thanks to your talent.
This one was not so cheap:-) The cheap one's pads kept sticking, so I got this cannonball. I'll save the other one for traveling and maybe let my daughter have a play with....it was cheaper than some mouthpieces!
Roland Kirk is outta' this world INSANE. Never seen anything like him; the brother looks like he's equipped with two independently functioning diaphragms. Tangerine is a great tune (is it a Brubeck composition?) Your dexterity on the soprano is obvious but I'll admit that I'm a huge fan of your tenor and I wish you played it a tad louder. Thanks for yet another terrific tune which you play beautifully, and for introducing me to the world of Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
Congrats!!! A truly great video and superb playing on both horns, w/the split screen - a wonder of mod tech. Fabulous duet w/yourself... Once again, the sop is not screaming @me, but actually PLAYING the lovely tune, a favorite of mine both to listen to & to play on trpt/flute. I love your version soooo much...
How come the slightly slimmer you is wearing glasses? Is it because the sop is smaller? I always enjoy your split-screen videos! Tangerine is a very nice tune and I enjoyed your interpretation. What I particularly appreciate is your breathy tenor sound, especially when you accompany the sop, which sounds clearly better now. The last phrase on tenor is again very much Stan Getz like! Thank you very much for this - and do not forget your alto ;-)
Thanks Ulli, I did a take of this with alto, instead of tenor, but I decided that my alto tone needed work. It is easier to switch between the tenor and sop, not because of the key, but I find the embouchure size are so different that is easier to adjust. The alto is just a shade different to tenor and it is somehow more difficult, or maybe it is just me :-) Funnily enough I find my breathy tone annoying now, it is nice on ballads. I am trialling and RPC105 mpc to get rid of some of the air!!

Hi,
Can you please share the make and model of microphone? Rode?

well spotted! an NT2a, although with hindsight a NT1a would have been just as good, I rarely use the patterns or pad switches

Thanks. I have the NT1 and it does not sound nearly as good at the NT2a on Soprano. The NT2a has much better presence. Cheers!

Just for you David :-) It is a great tune, and a good example of a song that works on the soprano, just the right register. (similar to trumpet)
