First heard this song when PiL first came to the USA in 1980. They played this along with Ricki's Hand during a radio interview I have on cassette. : )
fabs sound was dead pan. ironic and intricate in themes. he was also a highly intelligent if somewhat philosophical in his interpretation of music. asa long standing fan of our dearly departed frank tovey, all i can say is pure genius and never having the recognition he so well deserved. rip fad.
I used to go to a Goth club in Dortmund in 1987 when I lived there and this was a fave for the followers of purism.....Smoke, burnt out cars, flame throwers and goths weaving in and out in time to this....Fab!!! ...(the barman was called Jurgen the Glove as he wore arm length tiger print gloves and black high heels with a cod piece)...only in Germany!!!!
Fad Gadget was the pseudonym used by British musician,synthesizer pioneer,and performance artist Frank Tovey - an influential electronic music/New Wave....

Classic electronic music from 1979, so way ahead of it's time!!

@MrFreakboy77
It's not until now they have finally realized this. When several bands today openly admit this era has been a huge influence.

@ Richtux 1978. Great to know you admire Frank's work. The lyric you refer to is 'caravan on camping sands.'

@Spandau1945:
Fad Gadget has nothing to do with "Goth".
Absurd error of so-called "fans" who were fooled by terms of record companies.
You were born too late too realize this ...or too silly !

@MrSKINFLICK So true (-_-)

@Spandau1945 ..I`d go as far as INSISTING that back in 1987 there was no such thing as a self-proclaimed club for goths in Dortmund..
