@taimooralibukhari there is a internet site i think its called power supply calculator there you can calcutlate your needed wattage by giving in your detail (copmuter specs)
pc was off..there was a power surge and my PSU appears to have blown a capacitor...there was fluid everywhere? but HOW COULD THIS HAPPEND IF THE PC WAS OFF????...CAN SOMEONE HELP???
I am trying to find out how much wattage my computer is using, I went to a calculator site, the thermaltake one I think, but I don't know all the info or what they are talking about. I have an HP a6203w desktop, can anyone help me find out how much wattage my computer uses?
how do i know which one to pick that has the right ampage, for example i want to get a graphics card that says 12V current rating of 28A or more. how can i see how many amps are in a particular PSU??
Just for future a hard drive short is HDD. HD is now high def. your specs are identical though to my old pc which i gave to my dad. just replace your gpu's for 1 8800 Ultra. Nice pc mate.
A HX620W corsair can power 2x 8800GTX in SLI... just look up X6800 and the bottom on the list here on youtube... his X6800 and 8800GTX SLI peaks out at 496W...
Bullshit... Single GPU gamingrig, such as E8400 @ 4 GHz, HD4870, etc. does NOT go above 400W, most likely not even 350. 600W is more than enough for a gaming rig with 2 HD4850/70.
ive checked reviews and the whole computer is using 300w with 1 4870. they say 450w just in case, because older psu:s arent as efficient as they once were when they were new. maybe this is what you meant? you just messed up your 2 GPU calculation.
Yeah, and this is exactly what I said isn't it? The 300watts you're speaking about are for the whole system, not just the gfxcard if that's what you're thinking.
QX9770 @ 3.8 GHz, 2x2GB 1050MHz, 1 harddrive, 2 fans, 1 dvd and 1 HD4870 = 300W~.
You are deluded. For a start, that's simply impossible. PCI-E slot = 75W. 2 x PCI-E 6 pin connectors, that's 150W. It has a TDP of 225W. And there's got to be a large safety margin. AMD have already stated that max load power will never exceed 150W.
You are right, I know you are. But some people are just deluded. They think that a 45nm dual core and an 8800GT are going to require 600W+. And 1KW+ is required for a CF/SLi setup. That just makes me laugh. At least we know we're right...
Hey Rodney how many shirts are you wearing exactly? I see two but I'm think there may be 3 and even 4 if you are going crazy. Thanks I'll keep my questions coming.
For all you people who try to power their PCs with inadequate power supplies: all you're doing is under powering your PC, if not now then later. I suppose you people haven't heard of capacitor aging have you? I run an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 with an eVGA 8800 GTX with 2 hard drives and 2 DVD drives with a Corsair 750 watt power supply.
Sorry Rodney, I have to give this video one star and am quite ashamed to be one of your subscribers after watching this video.
You just gave the sort of advice that a bad PC Technician would give, providing absolutely no worthwhile information about the options you mentioned. For example, a modular power supply is not always a good idea due to the electrical resistance each cable module adds and doesn't run as efficiently.
ya all pc games have voice chat. most people use vent or teamspeak cause its high quality and lets us talk to just our clan or friends insead of the whole server

It idles around 520watt and at load it never goes above 600watt.
