  • when you buy a new computer, how do you find out how many watts the computers PSU has?

  • i think that ill use the x3 ultra 1000w cause it has the connectors i need and it gives me more then enough room for upgrades

  • how do i know which one to pick that has the right ampage, for example i want to get a graphics card that says 12V current rating of 28A or more. how can i see how many amps are in a particular PSU??

    thanks

  • you sound like casey kasem. can you say, " this weeks' top 40!!"

  • I think is uses a recorded voice, as he says this every time he reviews power supply's

  • Is the Corsair TX 750W good enough for 2 4850's?

  • ya i think it would run 2 of them fairly well

Just for future a hard drive short is HDD. HD is now high def. your specs are identical though to my old pc which i gave to my dad. just replace your gpu's for 1 8800 Ultra. Nice pc mate.

  • thanks.. by the way finally i decided to get p5n-t deluxe (780i chipset) e8400@ 3.6ghz 1.28volts^^ and 2 8800 gt 4 gb ocz pc2 8000@ 1200mhz

  • sounds like a good pc to me. game on!

  • :) cya

  • how strong should my psu be to power this?

    Q6600 @3GHZ

    BIGWATER 760I LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM

    780 MOBO

    2X 260GTX'S IN SLI

    8GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM

    1-2TB HARD DRIVE

    2 DVD-RWS

  • Umm around 1000 watts i would say... 1200 to be extra safe

  • 850 corsair'll be surely enough.

  • 850w is fine rexars is a bit high on power.

  • 700-850w... you don't need 1kw... just fucking bullsh*t

  • Will a corsair VX450W fit with HD4850 , 6000+ X2 , GeiL Ultra 2GB and an ECS 780G AM2+ ?

  • yes 450w can power that...

  • A HX620W corsair can power 2x 8800GTX in SLI... just look up X6800 and the bottom on the list here on youtube... his X6800 and 8800GTX SLI peaks out at 496W...

  • Might as well get a 1k psu.. will last you a couple of years if you buy a lot of hardware.

  • Bullshit... Single GPU gamingrig, such as E8400 @ 4 GHz, HD4870, etc. does NOT go above 400W, most likely not even 350. 600W is more than enough for a gaming rig with 2 HD4850/70.

  • Ha nice one... one 4870 uses almost 300W at load, 2 of them use like 500W. It's written on the box.

  • ive checked reviews and the whole computer is using 300w with 1 4870. they say 450w just in case, because older psu:s arent as efficient as they once were when they were new. maybe this is what you meant? you just messed up your 2 GPU calculation.

  • Check out "techspot (dot) com/review/109-geforce-gtx-260-280-versus-radeon-4850-4870/page10.html"

  • Yeah, and this is exactly what I said isn't it? The 300watts you're speaking about are for the whole system, not just the gfxcard if that's what you're thinking.

    QX9770 @ 3.8 GHz, 2x2GB 1050MHz, 1 harddrive, 2 fans, 1 dvd and 1 HD4870 = 300W~.

    Same setup but with 2x HD4870 = 450W~.

  • Check out techspot (dot) com/review/109-geforce-gtx-260-280-versus-radeon-4850-4870/page10.html

  • That just shows how correct I am, can't see what your problem is.

  • The card uses 300W BY ITSELF, that's my problem.

  • You are deluded. For a start, that's simply impossible. PCI-E slot = 75W. 2 x PCI-E 6 pin connectors, that's 150W. It has a TDP of 225W. And there's got to be a large safety margin. AMD have already stated that max load power will never exceed 150W.

  • Go look at the website I posted and see for yourself. They and many other reviewing companies are the ones saying that, not me.

  • Really man? Coz Im going with this kind of set up. R u sure 620watts is enough?

  • You are right, I know you are. But some people are just deluded. They think that a 45nm dual core and an 8800GT are going to require 600W+. And 1KW+ is required for a CF/SLi setup. That just makes me laugh. At least we know we're right...

  • this makes me feel a bit better about getting a powersupply now! 600w seems to be the sweet spot for me :)

  • lol, i have heard that same speech in all the power supply video reviews.

  • hey i got a 8800gts 512mb and i'm getting another card and going to run them in sli what psu should i get?

  • Hey Rodney how many shirts are you wearing exactly? I see two but I'm think there may be 3 and even 4 if you are going crazy. Thanks I'll keep my questions coming.

  • 1.28 minutes not seconds because that would be stupid

  • For all you people who try to power their PCs with inadequate power supplies: all you're doing is under powering your PC, if not now then later. I suppose you people haven't heard of capacitor aging have you? I run an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 with an eVGA 8800 GTX with 2 hard drives and 2 DVD drives with a Corsair 750 watt power supply.

  • what watts

  • great info, i love this guy, keep up the great work rony!

  • A 4870, Amd 64 x2, 2gb ram, 2 HDDs 5 fans is 300 watts on that tester thingy.

  • 800wat for multiple card setup pffffffft.....

    I use a 620watt for my 8800gt in sli with a C2Q, 4gb ram etc.

Like someone else said I am dissappointed with the advice you just gave.

  • u dont know how under watted ur pc is. ur just hurting it.

  • its fine dont be stupid its about the amps 2x8800GT =500watt

  • sigh....theres also CPU, Hard Drives, Fans, etc. They take 100watt+, thats 650+, 620Watt aint adequete.

  • 500watt psu 2x8800GT core2duo 2.13ghz

    2x500gb hdd. Dvd drive ...

same thing... i also used my 800watt tagan we benched and no difference...

  • benched? benching has nothing to do with how much wattage ur using....but if u think its fine...then ok

  • what?

u think 38800gtx on 3waysli will perform the same on a 650watt pc and same on a 1100???

  • :O 3 is definately not good if ur using 650watt;;;;;:O :O :O

  • I have a zalman fan controller that tells me the power consumption of my whole computer.

It idles around 520watt and at load it never goes above 600watt.

  • It must be one hell of a rig to idle at 520W, what have you got running to suck up that kind of power?

  • 8800gt sli, water cooled q6600 oced to 3.6, a few hdd's, 4gb ram, etc

  • he said hardcore...8800gt in sli isnt that hardcore....

  • Sorry Rodney, I have to give this video one star and am quite ashamed to be one of your subscribers after watching this video.

You just gave the sort of advice that a bad PC Technician would give, providing absolutely no worthwhile information about the options you mentioned. For example, a modular power supply is not always a good idea due to the electrical resistance each cable module adds and doesn't run as efficiently.

Sorry, this video was terrible in my opinion.

  • does peope chat wit a mic online in cod4 or any other gamwes as much as voice chatting on 360/ps3

  • ya all pc games have voice chat. most people use vent or teamspeak cause its high quality and lets us talk to just our clan or friends insead of the whole server

  • get a 1000watt ull be fine :P

  • hmm looks like mines in the middle....600wats

  • Almost same as the other question...

    but still very helpful!

  • I currently have a 650W PSU so I were to buy a single GX2 would I have to upgrade?

  • Nope.

  • So I suck for having a 450W psu :) but it shall change....

  • a 450W psu can BEAT OUT a 600w psu...

Trust me if its a high quality psu it can beat out low quality ones..

  • Yeah but... see that's the problem... not only it is 450W but it was also the cheapest 450W I could find :/

  • im building a new computer..... if i get a single GX2 will 700W be enough?

  • Make sure to get a quality power supply.

  • tagan?

  • Must be an ugly one! (cause she looks like a man)

  • This is a great question!

  • Dude you're epic, you remind me of my math teacher. You look exactly like him

  • Yea seems he had discussed this before, or something similar

  • ? is this video repeated ? this question is so familiar

  • He says this at the review for EVERY power supply review. Which ever twat asked the question clearly has a short memory :P
