  • Oh! nagoya station I from nagoya!

  • I walk to my office every day, like a this video.

    ( ̄▽ ̄)

  • most of them are wearing black O_o

  • It's like they all have to poop at once O_o

  • I like the conformity in this video, everyone is very monochrome and moves at very similar paces. And every now and then you'll see someone in a bright color or someone with a wider stride pass by. Nice.

  • 2:20 Waldo?

  • So much black.

  • I'm seeing a ton of "suits" I know it's common to see them because it's considered formal business attire, but I didn't notice a single T-shirt. Think it's the area?

  • We need ImprovJapan right now. People freezing right there. DO IT.

  • 金時計・・・懐かしいわ・・・

  • do they ever use that area for playing basketball/

  • CLEAN! first thing that i see^^

  • I love attempting to figure out what they are thinking as they go about their day :3

  • @Slambertmilam11 You my friend, have read my mind.

  • Looking for pickpockets

  • Noticed that the two people stood at the base of the escalator for the entire double time video.

  • @Delacresse they had a 10 minute phone conversation? that isn't excessive.

  • Just another day in Japan ;D

Oh hey look! a group of girls talking... o___o"

they must talk a lot for a video that is on double speed xD

  • Very cool! I like the music. Is this manjack?

  • The Japanese sure like their black suits... I felt like I was watching 'The Matrix' with all the Agent Smiths ha ha ha ha :)

  • The guy on the phone was the main character

  • Where's Waldo?

  • Ninja Flash Mob at 2:35

  • you should make a timelapse video of your town, or tokyo. I love timelapse vids

  • The most surreal part of the video is the guy on the cellphone left-center of the screen. There most of the time then meets up with someone I'm guessing he was talking to before. Then they go off together. Interesting vid!

  • This could almost be for a new "funny walks" playlist. lol

  • What's that soundtrack? Keep up the good work =)

  • Too bad you didn't say where this was! I'm assuming it's the Nagoya JR or Kintetsu Nagoya station?

  • very cool....... this song made me sleepy

  • no overly obese people... 0 __ 0

  • So many people going their way..it gets me a little philosophical. I mean all those people with their individual life, individual experiences feelings and thoughts..I hope they're doing well.

Thanks for the big effort you put into your videos. They really make my day :)

I'm going to Japan in a few years to study there and I hope I can stay when I've finished it because I want to live there..

Keep on the good work. It's always interesting to see how different Japan is in so many ways.

  • Double speed? Wow. This looks normal in New England. XD

Anyway, nice video. It's interesting to see. :3

  • @noleme80 I was waiting for it to speed up too.... everyone was walking normal speed for Canada

@ramsien I always had trouble finding a place to sit in a public place in Japan -- it is very uncommon. People often crouch on the ground instead.

  • A video like this, did you have to ask to video tape this?

  • the only place with respect..

  • I love Japanese everyday fashion. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the sea of black clothes. This was a very busy place. Excellent video, as always. Thanks for sharing this! I love watching people. If there was a live streaming webcam in a place like this, I'd keep it on all the time.

  • They like to wear black in Japan. :D

  • Not sure if it's this season's fashion choice, but most of those people, about 95%, were wearing black / darksih colored jackets/clothing, that was kinda wierd. I love using black jackets and all, but seeing EVERYONE using those was wierd :)

  • Oh and the woman at 1:57-2:03 looks like she's walking around carrying a huge white radish or something...I lolled.

  • Aww I started to get attached to ManInBlackSuitWithBriefcaseByTheEscalator. Got a bit emotional when he started to leave at 2:56...then the hilarious fast bowing made up for it and I'm happy again :,) hope he lives a good life.

  • Lady with a face mask 3:25

  • Allow me to step in for the lack of introduction: "Heeeeey gaaaiiisss!"

  • Perfect choice of music...

  • That's ManJack right? This song's got a bit of a Massive Attack influence going on.

  • Is it really double speed? To me it looks like only half speed... Isn't life running faster over there? ;p Just kidding! Like!

  • Everyone is dressed darkly

  • Two things occurred to me watching this:

    1) Have I ever been filmed and not known it?

    2) There arn't any benches. Most places I've been there would be benches along the escalators, or around the clock, but no. Is that common?

  • It doesn't look as busy..... slow day.... maybe?

  • How do they feel about mental illness in japan??

  • Thumbs up if you think "that guy next to the stairs will never know, I knew he was there"

  • hheeeeeeeyyyyyyyy gggggguuuuuuyyyyyyysssssss!!

  • Through the years I have seen people in Japan wearing masks over their mouth and nose. Is it polite to wear one if you have a cold, or is it fear of germs?? ...or none of the above??

  • @talfacprez wear one for a cold yes, wear one for allergies yes, and i have heard its also a fashion statement O.O

  • Imagine Shibuya at double speed!

  • I wonder what the original audio would be like at double speed.. :p

  • I get this weird feeling that double speed is normal speed if I'd compare it to life in my country.

  • Reminds me of Hunter x Hunter

  • 2:17Santa Claus!!!

  • I like these videos because they show that really it's not that different from any other 1st world country - we go to work, do our shopping, meet up with friends... but at the same time it is very different. If you'd done this in my city (or many others) you'd have seen people shoving their way around, someone hit someone with their bags, etc etc...

  • I'd like to do experiments at locations like this, with top-down orthographical filming and people wearing brightly coloured hats (men lime, women magenta) in different countries. I'm curious how much the culture influences the flow of people.

For example, Running at a trainstation is oké here, but I can imagine places where it's frowned upon. Or cellphone usage or smoking etc.

  • amazing music and amazing video

    fav!

  • Everyone is wearing black. xD

  • Errybody be wearin' black.

  • Neat!! Diggin' it big time.

  • Sounds like Pink Floyd

  • Girl running to her friend 1:53

This video is like find waldo X]

  • Pretty cool.. I would love to see more videos like this in different areas of Japan.

  • @VisionaXis

Check out the "wheels in Japan" and "nature and environment" playlists and you can have your wish come true... right now!

  • Wondering what the man in the black buissness suit was talking about for so long. XD

  • Okay, so I'm not the only person who noticed that just about everyone was wearing black.

  • OH NO. what happened to my favorite part of the video?!

    "heeeey guys".

  • Dear Nihongo-Senpai :D

I wonder how did you get that *camera view* from there o_O it'S look like you asked somehow to the security to have the *footage* of the commercial, it would be appreciate to receive a response, even thought that you get lot of message :O

  • Its scary in those few minutes what occurs in japan. Especially the pyschology side. Have you ever seen Death Note? Watch it. Very interesting.

  • Unfortunately, I don't think a 4.44 minute video taken in NYC, at either Penn or Grand Central Stations (both by the way are way more busy during rush hours) is possible anymore without some sort of security clearance. Without proper clearance, the photographer would be hauled off by TSA security within minutes. --- but I just might try this the next time ---> (-:

  • men in black

    people in black

  • Look up there /\

That "like" button needs a good slapping!!!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom actually it does point up at the dislike one

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom that little like button has been a bad little like button!!!!!

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

I like this comment better than the video. I'd like to see quadruple speed next.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom slapped ; )

  • I feel kinda sad for the woman in the grey jacket standing next to the escalator. Waiting for someone that never showed up....

  • @HandjesBreda That someone will show up, eventually.

  • Fantastic!

  • I liked the video! It's a nice change to upload something different & artistic. Keep up the good work & posting stuff, I really appreciate the time & effort you put to each video you make. I've been watching you a long time now & it's been really helpful, inspiring & fun. I am moving to Japan in a few days & marrying my Japanese partner. Your work has given me a lot of information (ex. the alien card & visa videos). So thank you for that! I'll keep watching you even from Japan! Cheers!

  • Two men bowing at 2:58

  • @TheJbomber Left man twice. Right man once. Who is more formal?

    Answer: Left.

  • @TheJbomber I read that as bowling lol

  • @TheJbomber Did you notice that he bowed when he said goodbye to the person on the phone as well?

  • sounds a bit like do you realize - the flaming lips!

  • all those people going about their lives. kind of calming in a way

  • Haha, the bowing men at 3:00 and... OMG I think I spotted Waldo! :O

  • How long did you stand there on the balcony filming the people in the mall?

  • hey nagoya station!

  • Great video! I like how the music matches with this!

  • The woman in the blue shirt looks kinda comical running, like she's in a MAJOR hurry.

    "Whoa! Where's the fire, ma'am?"

  • @whoo689 going to have to watch it til theres a woman in a blue shirt now, this will be like wheres waldo

  • LOL i though it was funny that almost everybody had black cloths xD

  • @Fiiainswe It's because winter!
