It's a truly great movie. It's worth watching even if the trailer gives it away. Which in reality, it doesn't. The movie is suppose to evoke some feelings in you. And if you REALLY think about it, you cannot hate Maureen. I did at first but she was closer to Court's age and she and Court had genuine feelings for each other. Like it or not Dani was very much a child.

@happyday316 I just didn't like how cold Court was to Dani after he found Maureen. It was pretty jerky in the first place to go for this girl that likes you's sister but then to treat her like she's dirt pissed me off! And if pissed me off even more when he died because Dani couldn't lay into him! Though it seemed like her character wasn't one to lay into people aspecially Court which annoyed me two.

the 90s were great. they dont make too many childhood movies like this anymore.

It's definitely worth watching. I don't mind at all. This movie is... one of my favorites. I don't know what it is about it though but it just gets to me. So yes, definitely, definitely worth the watch.

Amazing debut by Reese . I loved this movie and i was not surprised that Director Robert Mulligan was also responsible for "summer of 42" , a film i loved . I still think Jennifer O`Neill is the most beautiful woman ever filmed, and arguably the most important film of the 20th century, "to kill a mockingbird". He had a gift for transporting us back about 30 years to tell his stories. We will miss men like this.
