formate the harddrive with a new XP. then i garanty that the problem is gone. the problem is corst be start-up program or virus. if you cant formate. try use msconfig. goto run and type msconfig. than goto start. deaktivate all programs that you dont need to start up.

Here are some things that might have happened; Virus Spyware Fragmented Hard-drive malware Too many things starting up while pc turns on All of those mentioned above can cause this slow-down issue. Try running anti virus/spyware/malware scans and Defragment your hard drive. Defragging is free and built right into windows, so don't worry about that. Also try spybot search and destroy. And remember only have ONE anti-virus program installed. Its ok to have more than 1 anti-spyware though.
