Kyle Schwab is the best behaviorist in town! He has a way with these big babies that no one can match. Simply put; he is the best of the best. He's dedicated his life to educating the public about these breeds. He's saved and rehabilitated too many dogs to count, and found them loving homes. Kyle Schwab continues to make the world a better place for these dogs that are often misunderstood.
When I lived in LA and visited the Laurel Canyon dog park, people would always give my American Bandogge, Dinka, and I dirty looks. Kyle was one of the few people who even knew what she was and was supportive of having bully breeds at the park. With all these snobs thumbing their noses up at bully breeds, it was never my dog getting into an altercation. They should be educated and you're the right dude to do it. Peace from New Jersey!
I have to say Kyle is one of the greatest trainers out there.I was having problems with two of my male pits who are both shelter rescues. One whom was abused and another who was used for fighting. I was told Kyle is the person to call and so I did after a few sessions with him and my boys they are now able to be in one room together and walk down the street on a leash without thinking who is more alpha. Thank you Kyle for all you did, YOU'VE HELPED US, OUR FAMILY THANKS YOU! FORGET OTHERS!
Well then like I said you don't own the same kind of APBT I am talking about. I'm sorry to hear about the horrific pasts your dogs have had and it's a good thing that you're out there helping and rescuing abused animals. I fail to see how advising you to show people how to use a break stick is a stupid comment, I was in no way rude to you, just having a friendly discussion. I'm afraid talking to you in person would be impossible since I don't live in the USA but I wouldn't mind talking via email
Well it may not be a genetic problem in a lot of your dogs since most of them are American bullies, mastiffs and other crosses. But a person with an American Pit Bull Terrier is very likely to end up with dog aggression through no fault of the owner, it is just what the dog has been bred for since the early 1900's. If my APBT decides she doesn't like dogs I accept that as part of her breeding. But I think if your are educating people then that is a good thing, dog parks + pit bull = bad news
@ticklemeoreo And it is not "genetic" I have visited dog parks for 19 years straight , daily with 3 to 5 dogs per visit. Sometimes up to two to three times a day. It is understanding what you have, early spay and neuter, and exercise. NONE of my dogs have ever been in a dog fight, barked and or growled at another dog. If a fight breaks out. My dogs go into an automatic down-stay, and they are allowed to get up after the owners stop whatever is going on. But again, I agree with you.
@smashfacerescue Also when breaking up a fight you should use a break stick to show people that it can be done safely and reduce harm to both dogs. Responsible pit owners should have a break stick always. I think when your talking about the real American Pit Bull Terrier you can't trust them not to fight. If your dogs haven't shown dog aggression then you are lucky and I think they are most likely not game bred, are they? Again it comes down to breeding because they didn't teach dogs to fight.
@ticklemeoreo Thanks for you concern. That is why I visit dog parks daily to show the general public how peoples dogs are, and the sense of entitlement that they feel they have at these parks by putting other people's dog's at risk. That's what the whole show on Animal Planet is about. NONE of these dogs are mine. The show just follows me around from park to park, hiking trails, and cafes educating people on dog aggression. What you see is me breaking up random owners dogs. I agree with you 100%
Wow just checking out the vid...I feel you with the dog park. My boys don't even need a leash they are well behaved. Its all these ppl that look look down on pits and their dogs are the first ones to instigate a fight. because they are unstable. My boys are a great example. Thanks for showing the world this video...much props.
Good for you dude, you're a saint! We have Bullmastiffs. So tired of watching people screw up bullie breeds then ditch them at the pound. They're not for the weak or wishy washy, but yet plenty of *those* people will try their hand.
Crazy fattie at the dogpark threw a punch at you for NOTHING. Man and he thinks bully breed dogs are the problem??? Glad you sent his fat ass sailing and right into the dirt haha!
