It was a kit car with a monster after market motor obviously...As the camera man dropped his camera also the Vette was catching up meaning the driver didn't know how to launch that car either...

Yes I built the car. I chose a 351w from the engine factory making 460h and 425ft/lbs torque mated to a t-56 w/ ford 9" posi. I reach 100mph in 7.4 sec. The car weighs in at 3100lbs. wet. Dependable and quick this car is just what the doc. ordered.
The Guy in the vette didnt know how to launch very well. If he had, then it would have been much closer . But you cant beat the low weight of the old Cobra body and the massive power it produces.
I would have to agree the cobra is a kit car. For one if you have ever drove an original with a true side oiler 427 they do not hook that well not even in a heavier car like my friends galaxie dual quad 427 4spd. It's probably a much popular small block ford stroker 408 or better which is still an ass whooping. I would hate to know that was a 347 or 302. If so i would run the vette of the bridge or sell it and buy a cobra! LMAO

Yes I built the car. I chose a 351w from the engine factory making 460h and 425ft/lbs torque mated to a t-56 w/ ford 9" posi. I reach 100mph in 7.4 sec. The car weighs in at 3100lbs. wet. Dependable and quick this car is just what the doc. ordered.

The Guy in the vette didnt know how to launch very well. If he had, then it would have been much closer . But you cant beat the low weight of the old Cobra body and the massive power it produces.

I would have to agree the cobra is a kit car. For one if you have ever drove an original with a true side oiler 427 they do not hook that well not even in a heavier car like my friends galaxie dual quad 427 4spd. It's probably a much popular small block ford stroker 408 or better which is still an ass whooping. I would hate to know that was a 347 or 302. If so i would run the vette of the bridge or sell it and buy a cobra! LMAO

shelby AC cobra, still kicking corvette ass 50+ years later! dont get me wrong i love corvettes too, they are true ferrari beaters and very sexy looking/sounding and i really want a c6Z one day. but facts are facts and AC cobras just cant be beat, they stick true to old supercar values: light weight, big rear tires, even bigger V8 :)

That Shelby Cobra is not only fast but its one of the top 10-15 fastest cars of all time. What this car did say 40 years ago are now just being done today with cars such as the Zr-1, nissan gt-r.
