if the lady at 16:50 is pissed back then about one prototype train, just imagine how she was when they started rolling out the R142/43/60s and when they rose the fare to $2.00 and $2.25 lmao
This is really fascinating stuff. The dedicated TA police officers looked especially sharp. The minor details in the stations of old compared to the modern day intrigue the hell out of me. I've come to have a minor distaste for the new techs, but thanks for sharing!
@coyoteatquiznos Those transit construction workers sure aren't thrilled about being on camera. I love the incandescent lighting at the 14th street mezzanine. I'd be surprised if you could still find one bloody bulb that still remains on in a station nowadays. A shame really because it preserves the old world aroma while enhancing the appearance of the tiles. Bright fluorescents are buzz kills.
These were the test bed cars for what you ride today on other lines.Sad the TA ordered the striped down version in mass order. This R-110B was perfect!

Hey trainluvr I got a question I've been needing to ask you. What is your favorite subway car?
kmothersil 7 months ago
Would have to be the standard car of the Indepedendent City Owned Subway the R-1 to 9 group, specifically 484.
