Howard Jackson is very fast and shows tremendous heart while fighting the much larger Smith, and old skool bareknuckle style too.The blazing hand combos are rally there and he also blocks a whole lot of shots while coming in.he cracks and staggers Smith several times.Wish he'd get off the line and not just rush straight in along the same attack lines every time. But hey it's 1973 and it's 2011 now.Jeff really uses that defensive sidekick well, dropping and rocking Jackson several times.
Exactumundo! My teacher, Sensei, Mentor and great friend, Mr. Jeff Smith, worlds first Middle Heavy Weight full contact kick boxing martial artist. They were first generation in three realms of fighting, full contact, semi-full contact and point. We were the second generation to follow in their footsteps.
Good heavens, what great stuff! What a marvelous piece of American martial arts history, with the initial bout (I believe -- don't think Jackson and Smith had met before) from one of US competitive karate's great rivalries captured on film/video;) --
Great fight. Boy, I wish I had been around in those days;)

Not only history but great fighters, before the advent of safety gear, etc. Back when we all knew how to control.
