Peterson ran for 247 yards on 25 carries and scored 3 touchdowns in that game. I was there and that night drove straight back to Statesboro for graduation the next day. Just before we walked into the colliseum to graduate, they had us assemble in the basketball training room. Several Senior football players were in my class including Vonceilles Allen (NT) and Greg Hill (QB) ... we were jumping up and down in our cap and gowns chanting GSU, GSU... something I will never forget.
if you stop the video at 2:32, and see the defensive lineman( #99) with his hands on his hips looking around like wtf is happening is priceless! That is what Paul Johnson's system will do to a defense. Best coach in America.
What it takes to run the option well is vastly superior talent, which is what Southern had then. I remember leaving the games at halftime because it was already a 30+ point blowout. AP could walk over those teams in his sleep.
jesus christ that kid WOULD NOT go down!!! I hated watching this offense at Navy (in a family of Army fans) but now I LOVE watching it at Georgia Tech. So many big plays with it, and so many play-makers. Go Jackets!
These Georgia Southern teams were awesome to watch, and I'm a Bama fan. I hope Paul Johnson's offense works at Georgia Tech. His Navy teams were fun to watch too.
Nebraska ran it out of the Power I and WVU ran a shotgun spread... Big difference from the Option-Based Spread which is what Johnson runs. Its a spread attack in a Trip-O formation.

How many yards did Adrian Peterson gain in this game? I'd be suprised if it's less than 150.

The option is such a beautiful thing to watch. Thanks, Coach, for bringing it to GT. Here's to a long stay. Go Jackets!

3:20... great effort. Fun fun fun offense to watch. People getting knocked down, misdirection, big plays.

You guys destroyed my Penguins that year. Sadly we haven't been back since. Hopefully that changes in 2008, as we move to the Spread/Option offense!

@MPN212 glad to see a Bama fan recognize the all too common overlooked GA Tech football team

those 90's Nebraska teams and the West Virginia Teams over the last 3 years may have something to say about that

yeah but he said "no one evr ran the option better", Nebraska definitly ran it better. There version was much more effective.
