Never realized until now what a really good actress Emily McLaughlin was...........and quite pretty too. Too bad about the demise of soaps............casting carved-out-of-cream-cheese 20-somethings may have had something to do with it. Ya think?
See, this is what I'm talking about. The GH of today just doesn't even attempt to go in a place like this scene does. The humor is not forced, it just happens. And the scene itself was just great. Even Jessie, the epitomy of strength, gets a little hot under the collar every once and while. I think this is around the time that writers stopped really writing for her though. Wasn't her last REAL s/l the one when Phil Brewer finally REALLY got himself murdered?
yeah the who murdered Phil Brewer storyline of 1974-75 was a great murder mystery. what ever became of Dan and Jessie? I know their both gone but did they end up together until their deaths? I know he also dated Ruby and Charlene.
Jessie rocked! I loved her so much; it was a disgrace the way GH phased her out and gave her nothing but crumbs for the last several years of her life. She was a STAR!
GH is famous for dissing their vets though...look at what they did to Audrey, Lesley, and now Monica and Tracy. They should REALLy take a page form Y&R where Mrs. Chancellor gets storylines still.
mstexas this is what I was explaining to people on a message board the other day about OLTL. The reason y&r is number one is because they do not throw their vets under the bus like abc does.
And even look an hour earlier in their line-up to ONE LIFE. Viki, Dorian, Bo, Clint, Nora, Charlie, and Echo are all getting just as much airplay as the teens and 20-somethings.
@MattFrame They didn't phase her out just because. Emily Mcglaughlin began suffering from poor health in mid 80's and asked her work load to be lightened.
@Kevindl1985, Sorry, but that's not accurate. While the actress had had certain health problems for a while, she was still able to work in the 1980s, and never wanted to be placed on the back-burner. The decision to sideline her was a foolish one, and made by the powers that be.
loved Jessie's sweaters!

Man I sure miss Jessie. Sometimes I used to think she ran the hospital all on her own.

I thought that they stopped writing for her because the actress fell ill.
