@scentedcandleus "comfort and wild abandon" LOL love that! I zoomed in on the ipad and asked them what they say in the mirror, they just forgot. You'll notice the videos get shorter since this was filmed all at once and they were trying to end it faster ;)
@MuggleSam In art from (and around) this time period, the dog could be used as a symbol of devotion. :) Very appropriate for a wedding portrait! Something that's also interesting about this portrait is that she was only depicted as pregnant as a symbol of fertility; she never actually had a child. This painting has tons of symbols. :) And your girls are absolutely precious, by the way. They're so bright and sweet. :)
Can you do a video that is not attached to drawing/art?? I rly love the old ones they are so random and cute!!! Now you guys only do a video that is about art and stuff.....
Hey girls it's me again!!!! I cannot stand how cute you guys are!!! I'm gonna show my friends your videos and I bet they'll think you're cute just like I do!!! Btw I heart your art facts!
The fact that the wife is shown with a big belly is also a way to wish for a pregnancy. Like they said, it's a sort of wedding contract and with a wedding comes the need of a male heir.
Van Eyck is such an awesome painter, I love his work. There are always so many hidden messages. Have they noticed the mirror in the back?
Ahh...love this painting. We spent an entire class period discussing this painting in my Art History class in college. Didn't the artist paint himself into the mirror?? And many of the objects in the room are symbolic of fidelity, loyalty, future wealth etc.
My friend actaully thought that the woman was just really big. I guess when you look at it from a distance it looks like she is just resting her hand on her stomach but I looked it up on google and saw that she was holding her dress so I guess I will have to set the record straight to my friend. I am actually getting inspired throught your videos(for art) I want to visit the museum that have these actual painting in them. (Van Gogh is a personal favourite)
@swiimgfreek Also prefered by my aunt she has a stary night sun flowers and a third one but I dont know what. When my cousin was about 3 to 5 months old(just before she started to crawl) if you were holding her and she was facing the wall with stary night on it she would just stare at the picture for a long period of time. We thought it was the colours she loved it. Now she is going to be 2 and she doesn't look at it any more :(
i like it, but im waiting for more videos like vlogs or something like that, because last time i see videos only about paiting, lets record something more :P
Oh no, they didn't notice Jan Van Eych's double portrait in the mirror.
Also, I love Bella's choice of one sock. It's an even mix of comfort and wild abandon.

is that a dog in front of the couple or a cat with a short tail?
psychopathtoine 3 weeks ago
@psychopathtoine it's a lap dog. Shows that they were wealthy because only rich woman had lap dog's as companions. I think :)
