How come the continental grip feels awkward for me. Whenever i practice serving like this, my arm holding the racket does not flow. In other words, I am forced to use my wrist to try to keep the racket up, it's weird

@7daniel49 well if you take note on how you hit the ball in your serves when you feel that you want to hit a flat serve and still maintain the same grip. If you take a note on the angle you hit the ball with, then you can figure out if you should add less spin on your body or toss the ball further to the right (if you're right-handed). Atleast thats what i can give you a tip on.

@Nikurasu87 alright, ill try it. i have something off topic though. when i hit a kick serve the ball has some sidespin as well as topspin. is this normal? i think it is since you strike the ball from 8 to 2. (righty) and how do i get more power in the kick serve.

@7daniel49 Well, basicually the kickserve have topspin combined with sidespin. The topspin forces the ball to hit a little deeper on the surface and there your sidespin kicks in to kick away in the opposite direction it took while airborne. And to add more power to it im not sure. try to find a balance between top and side spin who fits your serve tactics.
