I remember when I went there in April it was cloudy and the approach was very bumpy. But it was a good flight and we had a good time there! I flew on an AA 757 like this one from MIA-SJU
As a proud Puertorican that I am I love this video!!!! I could tell exactly were you were flying from the video... I used to drive on a daily basis that exact highway. I saw the tool booths and the federal prison and also Plaza Las Americas... the biggest mall in the caribbean!!!!!!!
When, we, puertoricans clap at the end of a flight is our way of saying to the crew that we are thankful for a job well done and showing gratitude for being safe and alive. Also, we are elated that we have reached our beloved island. I love my people, love my island and I am proud that they don't take anything for granted and are willing to recognize when someone does a great job. Taking the airline crew for granted and being snobbish toward them is not who we are.
Although I am of Puerto Rican descent I can assure you that "hand-clapping" when landing is not attributed to just Puerto Ricans. Other Latin cultures clap as well.....and they also do it in Europe! You'd be surprised at how often they clap on some Alitalia flights when landing in Italy!
MY friend that is puertorican custom. when you are in a flight and when the plane its landing and you see that some passenger are hand clapping you can infer thats passenger are puertorican, and I'm very proud to be puertorican.
Ive been going to Puerto rico like 3 times a year since I was a baby and for the last 3 years or so they just dont clap any more on the flights that I go on. Maybe I just have some bad luck.
I was to ask, when you travel to Puerto Rico, have you noted the passengers doing hand clapping? I was curious about the flight, if there where any passangers hand clapping at the landing of the plane?
Great!! Video.
