Lost a campaign last night, had to take a position that was a major objective and I got jumped half way there. There is a time limit and although I beat back the Confederate armies, they held me off long enough to win the battle. Being a native New Yorker I am amazed at how we don't celebrate the Civil War, but in the South you see it in parts everywhere.
My favourite tactic in both attack and defence is to move the artillery to point blank range, supported by infantry. That way, they can pour canister into the enemy before they can cause much damage to you. The foe usually suffers 3-4x greater casualties. Try it.
I have a game called Take Command: Second manassas and it took me about 3 months to learn how to play this freaking game and it was not easy. I feel for the Army commander and especially the couriers. Those couriers were in some ways more important than the soldiers. Try and coordinating 50,000 men for an afternoon brawl........the Carnage is horrific.
Agreed.
