Most pro-life republicans believe that Roe vs Wade should be overturned and that federal government should not have an opinion on the abortion issue and should be left up to the states. Nice splicing to create the effect you're looking for. Fred has been a consistent in Federalist, which means that the less power that is held in the hands of politicians and judges, the better. He has stated consistently that he doesn't personally believe in abortion and that he thinks Roe v. Wade was bad policy, and an issue that never should have made it to the Supreme Court. He believes that the states should decide how to deal with these issues. No inconsistency there.
Fred will have to explain his past as a lobbyist but the key word in your comment is "former" I am much more concerned about what a Presidential candidate is going to do rather than what they have done. While their past is important in determining this, a person's past does not pre-determine their future. As for Ron Paul he would make a fantastic president if only he had a shred of common sense on foreign policy. Truly a pity.

This video is a really poor interpretation of his opinion and I am someone who doesn't support Thompson. Most pro-life republicans believe that Roe vs Wade should be overturned and that federal government should not have an opinion on the abortion issue and should be left up to the states. That sounds like Thompson's position.

Nice splicing to create the effect you're looking for. Fred has been a consistent in Federalist, which means that the less power that is held in the hands of politicians and judges, the better. He has stated consistently that he doesn't personally believe in abortion and that he thinks Roe v. Wade was bad policy, and an issue that never should have made it to the Supreme Court. He believes that the states should decide how to deal with these issues. No inconsistency there.

The problem with the abolition of Roe v Wade is that it is not just an abortion case, but also, primarily, a privacy case. It was decided on by the Supreme Court based on the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the US Constitution and the ruling has been used to decide other cases involving our privacy as Americans. Thus, the abolition of Roe v Wade would actually create quite a mess, as well, as those subsequent cases would lose the basis of their conclusions.

Fred Thompson is a hypocrite. We would not have 12 to 20 million illegals if you would not have contributed to an "open borders" immigration when you were in the Senate. This is why Americans for Better Immigration gave you a grade of "C". America has had enough rhetoric from political hypocrites. Stay on TV and stop "acting" like you're a conservative you fraud.

In fact try these, unemployment at recored lows, home ownership at all time high, roaring stock market, every time a nation needs help with a disaster who do they call? Dig a little deeper on the NRLC web site, and you will see he was score-carded adversely for his votes on campaign finance reform. ALL his votes on the issue are pro-life. You may nor may not agree with his position on campaign finance, but that is a separate issue. His voting record on life issues is 100% pro-life as far as what is posted on NRLC's site.

Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions. (Oct 1999)
Voted YES on banning human cloning. (Feb 1998)
Come on. Of course he thinks states should have some leeway, he's a federalist. He believes in states' rights, and believes that they, not the USFG, should determine abortion laws.
But he is pro-life.

I hate abortion too, but I do not want your religion in my government. Work for social programs that will support pregnant mothers and abortions will not be such an attractive option. I really HATE when YouTubers do amateur video EDITING to try and get you to think a certain way. That cut up crap does NOT cut it. Secondly, when you see someone else put up a video, check the profile of that person, and see what OTHER videos they have made, and what their favorites are. for instance prochoicefred here is a lefty, and he does NOT want a conservative president.

After seeing this video, maybe I should reconsider as I had dismissed Thompson as too anti-abortion. After President Bush, I have stopped making excuses for anti-abortion (a.k.a. anti-life) Republican candidates and have stopped voting for them.
