  • Beast! crazy run.... luckily it was then not now with all this pressure on the blocks technology cus he twitched in the blocks! 3:40

  • ya

  • After all these years David Coleman's commentary still sends shivers down my spine. Amazing. This was one of the few moments in sport I sat with my mouth wide awestruck.

  • This was the freakest thing I ever seen being a track runner myself....

  • This was such a magical moment for me. Nothing since has been able to top this.

  • I miss these good ole days! OMG!

  • MR ATO BOLDON....to u commentator

  • @mrbyacin prove it

  • i waS JUST WATCHING FRANKIE :)

  • absolutely shocking start, he was slightly rocking and his arm and knee drive basically his co-ordination out of the blocks suffered tremendously. Great run considering

  • I wonder what he would have run today with fewer rounds and the advances in technology and training. Probably could have dropped a couple 100ths. As to doping, I seriously doubt Johnson used performance enhancers, he was a low 10 second 100m runner and probably the best conditioned sprinter who ever lived. If Bolt could get as conditioned as Johnson was without losing any speed (extremely unlikely), he easily could go sup 19. But I think the time will get very close to 19s in the next few years.

  • @Kmunz7 well said bro, I agree

  • I'll never forget that moment where he crossed the line and threw up his arms in joy. One of the most famous shots in track and field history in my opinion. Literally DESTROYED the world record at the time. The fact that 15 years later, only one man has beaten says alot.

  • It is sad the Michael Johnson's steroids use was never disclosed. Michael's coach was the same coach for Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery both were suspended for life for using steroids. THG was a designer steroid that was untestable early 2000 which both Marion and Tim used. Testing of Michael Johnson's samples well after retirement have shown unequivacally his use of THG when set his record of 19.32. He fought the decision to revoke his medal and won in courts. I am glad his record is broken.

  • @khonfosh Proof? MJ's coach was Clyde Hart, Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery were coached by Steve Riddick..

  • @phastman1994

Is this an empty accusation? I knew MJ had different coaches, but have they tested MJ's samples after his retirement for thg?

  • @TheAngeltoDemon I'm not sure if he's been tested since his retirement, but like Asafa Powell, his consistency makes me doubt he's dirty

  • @phastman1994 consistency can be an indicator for drugs. but an even bigger one is when u always run so much faster in the major championchips. that is almost every time done by stimulants

  • @MrBusunglueck possible, but it can also be a matter of pacing yourself well so you peak at the right time and just simply the fact that it's the world champs or Olympics, knowing it's the race you've been training for all season. If anything consistency is less suspicions than inconsistency IMO

  • He is the best... The best of the best... My idol

  • He is proven to be the fastest man ever, in the 100m, his average speed was 24.2 MPH, Bolt's was 23.7 MPH

  • @Pinkakoo not to take away from MJ but even if that's true, Bolt and Gay are the only men to have exceeded 44km/h

  • Lazy ass undisciplined Usain Bolt should hire Michael Johnson as his coach. Then we would see what Bolt's real potential would be.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon Bolt already has some of the best coaching available, Glen Mills. I think training with Clyde Hart and MJ would improve his speed endurance but not so much his pure speed which is more important as he's still focussed on 100m/200m.

  • @phastman1994 Johnson knows a whole lot about improving speed and starts in particular. He's done alot of work for other profesional athletes who get tested on acceleration. If Bolt would give in to Michael's training schedule, I think he would be much more consistent about his starts and would have conditioning routines that woudl allow him to take the 200m to the realm of sub 19's. Watch clips of MJ's performance center in texas, see who works out there. LeMaitre could benefit too.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon yeah I've seen MJ's performance center, he's without doubt a genius and legend in the sport but I just can't see it helping him in the shorter sprints with Glen Mills being one of the best coaches over the distance, I can see it helping with his speed endurance when he's ready for the 400m though.

  • @phastman1994 tHANK YOU

  • @phastman1994 That would be a sight to see. I really think if Bolt defends his olympic 100, and 200 and if he breaks records doing it as well, it's time for the 400m and the long jump, where is he well capable of breaking WR's:) We would have a modern day Jesse Owens, accomplishing something noone may ever do again if he can simultaneously hold WRs for all the events.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon I can see Bolt challenging the 400m WR, not sure about long jump though. He said he wants to try both eventually, so we'll see. what do you think of Yohan's 19.26? I still can't believe it!

  • @phastman1994 Unbelievable, terrible reaction time too, should have been a WR. This Glenn Mills guy might be the real deal here with two horses. For some reason i envision Bolt and Blake in practice, Bolt and Blake going back and forth edging each other, but Bolt playing it off like he wasn't going all out. When's the last time ANY country has had two/three record holders battling? I guess the Lewis/Smith/Burell eras in the US? What a game changer this is, guess its ok to be short again:)

  • @TheAngeltoDemon true, hate to say this but I'm gonna have to see Blake go sub 19.5 (at least) again for me to be 10% sure that time was legit, it's possible the clock or wind reading was slightly off because even Dix's 19.53 easing up at the line is nuts!

  • @phastman1994

Good point, Dix definitely let go of the gas and to run 19.53 is a seriously crazy time too.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon 100%*

  • @phastman1994

I hate that the top guys aren't racing each other, Ato Bolden mentions it's because of the money, but I think it's hurting the sport. It was cool that Blake ran that fast, but it would have been cool as well to see him race Bolt in the 100.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon yea true, it would have been nice to see Bolt vs Blake over 100m or 200m in Brussels, hopefully he don't have to wait till London to watch the best of the best race each other next year

  • @phastman1994 Tell Ageltothedemon that we need no MJ nor no Americans

  • @TheAngeltoDemon how the fuck you know he is lazy ass? Obviously he isn't since he's the fastest man in the world by far and you don't get to be the fastest man in the world by being a lazy ass.

  • @TomValedro with his natural gifts and him talking about being in shape, he could have been much stronger and more consistent. There is a good documentary MJ did for BBC on Bolt, called the fastest man to ever live. Based on his laid back attitude and the fact that he mentions how the 400 is too much training so he chose the 100, seems to be lazy. He proclaims he is the most naturally gifted athlete, which is why he's the fastest. He might know what he's doing, just setting us up

  • @TheAngeltoDemon Still he has had to train a lot to get to where he is.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon we do not need MJ nor no other american coach so shut the fuck up and f**k off with bOLTS coach he is running faster than MJ has ever ran

  • @Max0077 Then why have his starts been so inconsistent all of the sudden. In 08/09, he was untouchable. Then what, his starts suffer? Even in this years worlds, his hands were very narrow, and popped right up. WHy does he need new coaching or at least mentoring (MJ said he wouldn't coach Bolt, cause he's not a coach, but he could mentor him, etc.), because he hasn't come close to the dominance of 08/09, was beatable in 10, and sure, ran a nice 200 and relay, but he has flaws to be addresed

  • @TheAngeltoDemon hi matei am sorry if i came across rude in my post i do apologise if i have offend as thats not in my nature but MJ chats alot of shit seriously he does and he irritates me to the core but bolt has got a back problem so he has r=to be careful how he runs u can google it,

  • @Max0077

No worries. MJ does talk shit, but he knows what he's talking about. I can't say Glenn Mills is a bad coach, but I just wonder if he let's Usain get away with too much. Usain is a once in a lifetime athlete, it is a shame if he's not at his best for the championships. We'll see.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon Actually his start looked pretty excellent in the qualifying rounds in the 100, but he knew he needed a great start to beat Blake with the form that guy he's in, hence the false start. Plus if you go back and look, Blake flinched. That's what caused Bolt to false start really.

  • @Antrizzle2009

It did, esp the quaters. But look back when he first started running the 100, that was the freaky thing about bolt, a guy his height being able to get out that quick. I no longer think it's necc PEDs, but the pressure may have gotten to him where he's simply overthinking the start. A change that didn't make sense to me is how narrow his hands are. I don't get how someone's start breaks down that much. In reality, there is not a whole lot to the 100m, u have it or u don't.

  • I like him commentating Athletics on the BBC.

  • @brendude95 Agreed. He is an excellent commentator.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon

I'm surprised he does it for the BBC, not an American TV network or something.

  • @brendude95 as they dont want him he is not a good analysis at all

  • @brendude95 i dont he chats shit he really does chat shit TBH him and Ato but sometimes Ato gets it right but in Deagu in the 100m MJ was saying gerald Phiri and Walter Dix was gonna gonna give bolt hard time and I was thinking come on MJ Gerald Phiri have not even won the NCAA much less to drop his name in the hat as a commentator you shld know that when athletes are doing the qualifying rounds they do not want to use up too much energy and that he fail to let his audience know

  • As amazing as Usain Bolt's race may have been, for me, THIS ONE, WILL Forever be the Greatest 200m ever..simply because before this 19.32, it wasnt believed that ANY MAN on the planet could run that fast.. It was so Majestic... goosebumps...

  • @headsroll Absolutely agree. I also remember seeing it live and it was arm-pinchingly fast for the time. It was astronomically fast!

  • @headsroll True but Bolt's 19.19 into a slight headwind is fucking amazing. That's my favorite Bolt race and I think he can go even faster in the future.

  • This may be my favourite Olympic final of all-time

  • michael jordan, michael johnson and michael jackson. my mum should have named me michael and changed our surname to soomething beginning with j.

  • @javonlegacy Yep (Heat, Quarter-final, Semi-final, Final) (Some people call the Heat the 1st round and Quarter-final the 2nd round)

  • what;s amazing is if you take Johnson out Fredericks would have broken the world record!! Amazing. if you'd offered that before the race I bet he'd have taken it

  • @Christoffski nope,the WR was 19.66

  • three different races all in one crazy....

  • THe audio makes the commentator sound like he's crying/joyful?

  • a ill seenyah in alanta georgia im in aau trackandfeild team dcspeed thats the name

  • Michael Johnson was the greatest then I thought no one would ever break that record... Then came one Usain Bolt 19.30 then 19.19 speechless after that one. Imagine if he didn't run four 100m race and two 200m race before his 19.19 record and wasnt tired then the record would be 18.8s

  • @dawgyblack Bolt's time may well be faster if he hadn't had run all the rounds of the 100m and 200m, but Johnson ran all the rounds of the 400m & 200m before this, and back then they had Quarter-finals in the 400m, they don't have Quarters anymore in the 400m in global championships

  • Comment removed

  • Astonishing commentary too. The 14 seconds between "And the world record is gone!" and "This man, surely, is not human" leaves time for everyone watching to go nuts.

  • @philmakepeace i think he is david coleman and is one of the best commentators ever one reason why he received an OBE and he commentated fantastically for 4 decades may he rest in piece!

  • What an olympic moment

  • jesus he looks like hes just floating, very minimal time of foot on the ground.

  • Arguably the best sprinter ever.

  • @CJThaSavage How can you say that lol he is good but not the best have you heard of One Usian St Leo Bolt from Jamaica ? i suggest you google him
