Stagflation would certainly be cause for depression. I'm not sure if we will have stagflation, but inflation is already baked in the cake; and that is bad enough!
Jobs will be hard to get because a lot of them are disappearing, but people who need them are not. This means that people won't be in any position to demand higher wages unless they are doing a very needed job that takes rare talent.

The trial shouldn't be about how the bailouts were done, it should have been about why they were done. AIG and all the other banks (and the big 3) should have went under and all their assets should have been auctioned off to the highest bidder. Our country would have gone into recession, but would have come roaring back in a year or two. Now we face at least a decade long depression!
