2.A high value is placed on chastity (not to be confused with celibacy) for both men and women. To protect women from accusations of unchaste behaviour, the scripture lays down severe punishments towards those who make false allegations about a woman's chastity.[Qur'an 24:4]
And just four Verses later [Qur'an 24:8] it says that women need four witnesses to defen against accusations made against her, doesn't exactly seem like women being treaty equally to me. A story about sheep herders who need Muhammad to water their sheep for them because their dad's too old.
A few verses later one say to her dad...
28:26 Said one of them: O my father! employ him, surely the best of those that you can employ is the strong man, the faithful one.
So they need a man to do their work for them? Oh yes!, striking a blow for female equality!

So the Hadith supersedes the Quran?
Giving women a better role than in the Quran?
The oral isnads of man are more important than the word of Allah?
Does this means that humans treat Women better than the Islamic God?
Thanks for inadvertently putting a nail in the coffin of this particular desert dogma.
