  • is it petrol or electric

  • how long did it take to make the kit....what came all built inside it? my hobby store wont let me open the kit unless i buy it

  • @BassBustinRanger Only takes a couple of hours to build the chassis and then a good few days doing the body. If your model shop won't let you look inside then you need to find yourself another model shop ;)

  • what is the top speed with the stock esc and stock motor?

  • @stimusic hey, did your Tamiya Brat end up reawakening all that teen happiness? I hope so.

  • is your brat 4 wheel drive?

  • Love the video. Very nice camera work and thought in the shot setups. I built one of these back in 1984 when I was 13. I had it for a couple of years and eventually sold it. About a week ago I stumbled across the kits (didn't know they were still being made) so I order another one. It's definitely not the fastest car out there but it sure looks cool. It's funny how all those old feelings and memories you have as a kid can resurface. I keep checking UPS daily to see my delivery status.

  • im thinking of getting one of these, how fast do they go?

  • I usually just wash them off in the bath. Always make sure your electrical bits are protected though. And l usually service them 3 monthly.

  • @bratattack5 I am also planning to take my Brat to the beach. What is the best way to protect the vital components?

  • I have been working on an original 1980s Brat (now with the re-issue body on top... every time i drive it I get your song in my head.... I'm dreaming...

  • Sorry about that 5co44y :)

  • i love how ur tryin to be all cool at the beginin and end up hittin the other car

  • It didn't quite go to plan that is for sure!

  • The music takes me back to the 80's. I loved the 80's :D I lived in the Nevada Desert back then.

  • Love the 80's throw back music

  • i had one of these 23 years ago i put a 540 motor on it and a 7.2 battery pack ( i think) lol i am now 38 coming to think of it school wasn;t all bad....

  • are these waterproof????

  • wow are thes 2wd?

  • Yes.

  • are these the "old" Brat or the re-Released versions?

  • The black one is my original one from 1985 and the red one is the re-release.

  • great vid

  • great video lovely trucks

  • cool man

  • is it 4 wheel drive

  • 2wd

  • What front bumper has the red brat got? Are the motors still 380s?

    Thanks.

  • The front bumper is the standard one out of the box.

  • The black ones bumper l can't remember what it is called but l got it from Ebay and the motors are 540's.

  • Hiya Stu, brattattack5, see you've gone from Tamiya Club, I'm not going to subscribe again either. Great vid, great sounds too. Sir Cliff. Just about to start my own Brat collection soon. Got a project coming

Keep up the good work, Where you at now you're not on TC,

    Cheers'

    Del (aka BeetleRacer69) on TC

  • Cool, I am going to get one tomorrow !

  • to much fun!

  • can i have the red truck please i love the truck

  • nice vid

i have a tamiy black foot and was wondering if the two models are geared the same?

  • Almost the same but the Blackfoot has a smaller pinion gear because of the bigger wheels. If you fitted the 19t (l think) pinion like the Brats you will have bad pull away but far better top end speed.

  • Just got one of these to build during winter break. I even have a vintage Futaba radio to put in them. My original one was from the 80's don't know what year it was but I remember the mechanical speed control with the little balloon over it. Great video brought back great memories!

  • Glad you liked it. It's my favorite Tamiya hence why l own 13 of them.

  • - Great Video and the music goes well too.

Reminds me of those care free days when as a kid I could spend ages looking through the glossy Tamiya catalogue and dreaming of which car I'd like to have and imagining where I would run it and how good it would look. Which beach was this filmed on?

    Great stuff,

    Dave.

p.s. got any Tamiya Wild One videos?

  • Within my videos there is one with my Wild One in it.

  • Cool Brats! I always wanted one. Great beach action.

I took a Tamiya Brat reissue body and put it on a crawler chassis. Check out my videos "Grocery Run" and "Grocery Run 2" for some Brat crawling action. Sadly, I ran over it with my 1:1 scale truck and that necessitated a new body :(

  • NICE BRAT REPLICA

  • Just makes me feel 10 again, great...

  • are they worth the money? cheers

  • For sure. Great fun and lovely detailed.

  • Oh hell yes. My favorite Tamiya which is why l have 11 of them.

  • I just got this car from Tower Hobbies and am about to start putting it together as soon as I finish typing this. I really LOVE this video, but the music could have been a little better.(Maybe smoething like "Beach Baby" from the group "The Beach Boys" or something). Still a great video though! (Four Stars) :-)
