Thank you, Rachael! ABC news gave more coverage to the opening of the movie "New Moon" than the reaslity of a US government agency causing the destruction of an great American city, And you wonder why this country is in the dumper?
@FixedNewsChannel is that the best you can do? i know you're afraid to face the facts. the truth hurts sometimes. but any fan of msnbc is used to being in last place.
@FixedNewsChannel it's funny that you act as if their pitiful ratings arent important. When they finally go off the air, what stupid little videos are you going to post?
Glenn Beck crying and Sarah Palin confusing Iraq with Iran, as she pathetically done on Hannity.
You never answered my question. Why are you clicking on MSNBC, specifically Maddow videos if you hate it so much. Isn't this the indoctrination you tea-ballers always talk about?
LOL, he specifically states that it's a select group from New Orleans he calls scumbags. "Those are the only ones we're seeing on television are the scumbags -- and again, it's not all the people in New Orleans. Most of the people in New Orleans got out! "
Glenn is pig disgusting. A city is underwater and he's calling them scumbags form his studio- while Shrub and McCain eat cake on a runway. Happy B-Day, Walnuts!
He had the same to say about the victims families of 9/11
""I didn't think I could hate victims faster than the 9/11 victims."
----------- You have the intellect of a coat hanger.
On Aug. 29th while the residents or "scumbags" as you and Glenn Beck affectionately refer to them. Bush had a surprise birthday party for McCains 69th with cake- on a runway . The cake was real- not like the plastic turkey Bush flew onto the aircraft carrier with for a few photos.
I hope there was a legitimate defect or neglect in the levees that caused this ruling and not a design parameter like "this levee should have been 11 ft high instead of 9 ft.." What happens if the next storm requires a 12ft levee, 13 ft.. and so on.
This isn't about a levee, it's about a navagation canal built in the 1960's through St. Bernard Parish that the citizens of St. Bernard did not want (MRGO). Over the years the 650ft wide canal was never properly managed and got up to 1,500 feet wide (average meaning some places are narrower and some wider) due to erosion. Not to mention all of the wetlands that were destroyed due to salt water intrusion in the canal. THAT is what this is about, not any levee system.
40 years later the people who live there finally are proven right. They died. What kind of sense does this make? If they knew it for 40 years they should have moved. God this is simple logic.
I agree with you, but I am not applying it to New Orleans.
Some people like to build houses on volcanoes, some on top of snowy mountains.
I lived in Scotland and visited a place called Aviemore. This is a mountainous place with lot's of snow (think very small scale Andes). Well anyway, people were building small houses on the mountainside for the "view" and when an avalanche happened and the house came down like a house of cards, they complained.
So, you want people who've been in the area for over 200 years with well established businesses that their family depends on for a living and such to just get up and move because the government built something they didn't want in the first place? Gotcha, you are ignorant of the area and should really just STFU.
ssurla, you really are an ignorant person yourself.
I said, "but I am NOT applying it to New Orleans."
I think what happened there was absolutely NO fault of the people of New Orleans, I was talking about people who live on fucking VOLCANOES and MOUNTAIN-SIDES!!!!
Rodgers, the businesses I am speaking of depend on the water ways in St. Bernard Parish to exist. HOW DO YOU MOVE THAT?? Also, there is an oil refinery that supplies oil to a good portion of the SE US, HOW DO YOU MOVE THAT TOO?? Especially since you cannot build new refineries in the US. You know not what you speak on this.
You've just proved my point, you don't care. You are sitting on your high horse passing judgement about a situation you know nothing about... AND REFUSE TO LEARN ANYTHING ABOUT.
You can only talk sense when you have some. My advice, don't talk to yourself. ;)
Actaully, I'm curently in Tampa, no idea where you pulled Houston from. I grew up in St. Bernard Parish. My family's history goes back over 100 years in St. Bernard specifically and further back to the NOLA area in general. My dad was one of the people who tried to fight the building of the MRGO. You haven't asked any questions before this, so I don't know where "this time" came from.
Oh. You left your people. If Louisiana wants to fix New Orleans then they can I don't live there because I am smart. I do not want to allow people to make the same mistake twice. If you take money from anyone outside of Louisiana it is stealing. You cannot reward dumb. Which this will be if it continues.
I would never gamble my life thinking that man can stop a hurricane. Sorry people but the ocean cannot be controlled. I live in Wisconsin. If I were to freeze to death in the middle of winter should my family sue my coat maker for poor manufacturing? Or should I have stayed in the house. People should not live there. But, They are rebuilding.
Read up about the MRGO. That's what this suit is about. Read what I wrote in another reply. The MRGO was a man made canal that wasn't properly maintained and caused depletion of the protective wetlands as well as funneled waters into residential areas. Had it not been built, St. Bernard Parish would not have flooded. The citizens of St. Bernard tried to fight it before it was built because they KNEW the land and what this canal would do to it. The canal has been closed because the Gov knows this
Oh so they knew about it ahead of time. When there are earthquakes in California they wants us to bail them out. They are the morons who choose to live there. Yet this is a victim society.

I got a LOT of people. I am FROM St. Bernard, so I'm all good.
