@WalkingDeadFlyer When you quit a mission there are 3 main options "Save Track" "Done" and "Refly"

"Save Track" records all the flight from the mission from start to finish, and then in the main menu there is an option called "play track" and that's where you can view all previous tracks

@12OclockLow I captured video using Fraps, and the fixed aircraft views are from the PAT smoke mod... I can't even find that anymore, which really makes me frustrated as I've had to completely reformat my hard drive since making this.

google Ultra Pack, it's a great mod set. quick install guide:

1. install 1946

2. patch it up to 4.10.1m (patches-scrolls.de is an awesome database for patches for all sorts of games)

3. install D2D patch if you have a downloaded copy (link is in UP3 guide)

4. install UP3 + RC4 Hotfix

5. activate the optional mods (including Pat) in the JSGME program (in the 1946 directory)

6. play!

i like the old il2 much more than wings of prey, i have both, one reason is, i can shoot much more accurate although the new game is much more arcade i wish the old il-2 with the new graphics. wonderful video! well done mate, definitely thumbs up! i've got a question about this game: if you fly sideways (wings 90° vertical to the horizon) does gravity pull the plane down like in real life, or does it fly always straight with no influence of gravity? i hope you understood what i tried to ask ^^

I have the sim, the flight model is extremely realistic. If you are in a 90-degree bank, your plane will eventually droop a wing due to gravity. Either use some rudder or keep your banks at a positive 10-or so degrees. Oh, and for the editing of this video...fighttoflyphoto...good job mate, I don`t normally watch these long vids, but the music fits the classic airbattles perfectly. May we all remember the brave boys from the Luftwaffe and the RAF, enemies or not., but brothers.

@nonickworks The dynamics model in the game is very realistic. If you do not add any "top" rudder, the plane will definitely begin to lose altitude when at a 90 degree bank with no elevator. And to knife edge you have to be going REALLY fast. :-)

I like video games...but there comes a time where video-games blur reality. Sure, it's fun to "shoot-em-up". This is a fantastic "video" of what kind of happened. Just don't blur those lines between reality and fantasy to the point you cannot differentiate them. The air war of WWII was very bloody....not simply just aiming at a target. These young men lived and killed...some maimed phys/mentally...and most will say it was the most exciting times of their lives. Just don't glorify killing.

Good video, but Spitfire at 5:08 is cheating on flaps... I see them partially lowered in a fix position. That is only possible if the flaps are modelled into an axis... and REAL Spit only had 2 positions, up and landing...
