Love my rhino, haven't been able to put it down since I picked it up. Have you looked into the Rambler or the Mosier Trigonaut? Still looking for a fixed blade with a little more substance and I'm currently in love with all three of my Boker knives(Gnome, Rhino, Escape). Thanks for doing what you do man.
Yes indeed, I've looked at them both... those and the Pry Mate as well. Nice blades.
I am in love with the Boker Rampage my girl on here sent me too, I just reviewed it and man that's a substantial Boker, haha. Mostly for defensive purposed however... great blade though.
Yeah I would have to agree actually... perhaps it's more appropriately described as sort of a sheepfoot blade.
Wharncliffe blades are typically flat-edged indeed... however I've seen some designer call them "modified" when they offer a little belly. Either way, I like it, HAHA!
@X4CTO Hmm I think I'd follow Benchmade's example and call it a reverse tanto...I guess it's technically sort of a clip point, haha. I tend to focus on edge shape mostly...so I guess I'd say reverse tanto.
Yes I do actually... I think it would do well for cutting meat, nothing too large of course, but it does resemble a meat cleaver. Cutting up some nice beef cutlets or some chicken strips... definitely. I haven't done that personally yet, but it really does well cutting vegetables and fruits. Great little knife all around in my opinion.
HAHA! Well it's an awesome blade shape whatever it is.
Reviewing the Rhino was my pleasure, I really love the knife and carry it as a sort of back up self defense / emergency EDC blade. It's great design and very comfortable to have on you all day. Excellent design in my opinion.
By the way... it's an honor to get a comment from the designer of a knife I love... makes me feel good. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment... that's really cool of you.

So would one use this as a neck knife?
Phitalian 3 months ago
@Phitalian
I suppose you could if you wanted... it might be a little heavier than many neck knives, but it's certainly doable!
The knife does retain very well in the kydex sheath so that should not be a problem.
You can also by a tek lok clip system to attach to the sheath and wear it clipped on your belt or somewhere.

That's not a Wharncliffe at all--it has way too much belly.

Yeah I could see it as a reversed tanto... maybe like a Kershaw Blur tanto reversed in fact.

This steel is capable of getting very sharp indeed... I'm a fan of it.
Love the Rhino and the little Gnome... both great little Vox designs.
Really cool thing is, I actually met Jesper Voxnaes... he even commented on my video about the Gnome. =)

Do you think this knife would work well cutting meat?

Very nice review, especcially your thoughts about the kitchen knife bladeshape.
Actually I ordered the knife from Böker and i sent it back.
I didn't like the handle and I couldn't get the feeling for the blades "form and function", LSS it wasn't fun to cut...for me!
BUT: Now i have the BOB from Mr. Voxnaes and i LOVE it!
I honestly recommend it to you...
Greetings from Ubbo

Thank you, I appreciate that!
I actually traded my Rhino for a Spyderco Endura to a friend of mine! =)
I will have to check out the BOB you speak of... haven't seen that one yet honestly.
