0:49 apparently however it's perfectly legal for a state government to force the purchase of insurance under penalty of fine...just read Tennessee's law requiring the purchase of car insurance under penalty of fine and possible loss of license...it's been on the books for years now and has yet to be ruled unconstitutional...
Umm...your comment reflects your ignorance. The Constitution limits the power of Federal Government to certain enumerated powers it does not limit the power of individual states in this way. Had the State of Tennessee passed a bill mandating you buy health insurance it would be legal. However it is not legal for the federal govt to do this.
@cronous81 Oh I'm well aware of the difference between the federal govt and state govt...I did grow up in the south after all..I'm just saying that it's a bit amusing that if a state forces people to purchase a product it's perfectly fine, but the federal govt tries the same thing to fix a a problem and all hell breaks loose...Personally I don't agree with either law but i understand the need for both. I'm curious to see what would happen if a state adopted aspects of "Obamacare" on their own...
Frankly there many provisions of the Constitution that people disagree with. For example Republicans hate the 14th amendment for allowing anchor babies to gain citizenship. However, that has little relevance when it comes to the rule of law. The restrictions of the Federal Govt's action came out because the founders thought that an overly strong federal govt would create tyranny. They believed that smaller administrative units such as the states should retain some power.
The Republicans are the ones who fought for the passage of the 14th Amendment. Modern day Republicans so not hate the 14th Amendment but seek to obtain what they believe is a more accurate interpretation of the Amendment based on legislative intent.

Also insurance costing MORE is actually subsidizing the poor who utilize health care and do not pay for it, so the doctors and hospitals gotta get their money somewhere.
The government has regulated the health care industry and they've responded accordingly (to keep money in their pockets).
I suppose in a way you are correct, insurance is gambling, you give your money to a company who then gambles it away as THEY see fit. Plus, you get to pay the gamblers for having conducted their "service" of gambling your money for you.
Claiming that insurance is required to pay for the poor is claiming that insurance is a form of forced charity or tax.
I can't make sense of your third point as it is too vague and I'm not sure which "they've" you are referring to

It is an amazing credit to our health care workers and system that we are not dead last when you consider: US consumption of drugs and alcohol , US consumption of fast-food and pre-processed foods, the US couch potatos and morbid obesity rates, leading consumers of tobacco products --many of which are longtime users now with cancer and pulmonary diseases in their 50's and 60's..
@19jackson64 This may come as a "shocker" to you, but no one gets out of this world alive. People who don't take care of themselves, die prematurely but it doesn't matter, financially speaking. If you die today or tommorow it should cost the same.

Bamacare cannot fundamentally succeed without the sacrificing the quality of the America dream, or what remains of it. Having a leadership claiming government welfare is "best bang for buck" is what liberals are all about, just wait until they dismantle the rest of the medical field.
Good! The republicans are doing exactly what we've asked them to do...repealing ObamaCare and making damn sure that Barry Soetoro is a one term President. The writting is all over the wall...he won't recover from this fall!
I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.
I hope this mean Obamacare is dead. This means Judge Vinson or the Eleventh Circuit (or even the Supreme Court) may issue an emergency stay of this or any other part of the ruling, but as of right now, the federal government must stop implementing Obamacare.
See, the left wing loons one night went into a back room with a few of their closest goons and came out with this monstrous bill Captain Obumble hailed a 'victory' yet these same left wing loons haven't figure out you can't just make stupid shit up and press it upon people without serious blow back.
The vile left and their hatred for America will be the downfall of them, what we are witnessing is the last few gasps from the violent, subhuman members residing in that ideology.
Right wing activist judge. neato. I hope everyone who have been paying their insurance premiums but lose coverage anyway because of a PEC come to this judge and the republican party for healthcare after its repealed.
@ocerg1111 Don't worry, there are still plenty of leftists in the Republican party to ensure that socialistic insurance companies still go on raping the general population. Afterall, govt. issued insurance and "private" insurance are still just socialistic programs where everyone pools their money to pay for everyone elses bills, which means the people settting the prices in the medical industry can continue raising prices with out fear of free market forces.
@dlucas90 How can America's health care system be socialized? Because it doesn't matter weather dollars and the hospitals are owned publicly or privately. What matters is who controls how they are used.
our government encourages unlimited health care spending, which causes enormous waste. Its estimated that Medicare purchases $70 billion in useless services every year. It also may explain why we spend 50% more on medical care than other advanced nations. Waste in medicare/medicare is huge
@quizerry "Our govt. encourages unlimited health care spending, which causes enormous waste"........ I couldn't agree more, and the reason it does is because it allows the health care provider to set prices acccording to what a "pool" of money can afford, rather than what an individual would be able to afford. Private insurance does the exact same thing, pools money to pay for everyone elses bills, which allows health care providers to set prices according to what a "pool" of money can afford.
@ocerg1111 Would you rather the government deny you care? The London Telegraph is reporting that the doctors believe “smokers, heavy drinkers, the obese and the elderly should be barred from receiving certain kind of care. NICE proposed that the National Health Service use age as a measurement of a patient’s worthiness for treatment. The UK HC system is broke they are now trying to get some free market ideas to cut cost. France 92% have a supplemental free market plan to help cut cost.
@quizerry When a heat wave hits France, hundreds of people die because they are absolutely dependent on the government and incapable of caring for themselves.
New Orleans also showed what happens in our own land when people rely on the government for their safety.
The government cannot provide shit when people need it the most. It has proven this over and over and yet liberals refuse to understand this.
@ocerg1111 Hey dipshit....AFTER "Obamacare" went into effect my premiums for ins went UP 38%. Can't pay for my employees anymore. And what is this crap with 1099s in healthcare. Why don't you have a great big hot cup of coffee and WAKE UP! It has nothing to do with Dem or Rep or liberal or conservative...it is the gov't that wants total control at the nudgings of big business.
@Toddinfantry Liberals are jackasses. Anyone with a brain knows the goal of Obamacare is to push costs onto insurance companies until people simply cannot pay for it anymore and demand the government do something about it... and that's when they step in and take over the whole system.
They just need to whittle down all the insurance companies only to a few which are easier to take over.
@williejenkins666 I have read your posts Willie and find you got your head screwed on straight, thanks. I will disagree though that liberals are jackasses. I find jackasses on both side of issues. That said, liberals are the type of ppl that want the "easy" way. Liberalism is the easy route, let the gov't decide all things for you and just drone along. We have been giving entitlements to these ppl for so long, it is becoming a way of life for many and turning that mindset around is not easy.
@Toddinfantry Oh, you are right. There are jackasses on both sides.
Over the years I have changed my opinion on politics. I've evolved.
At first, I was generally ignorant. I lived in blissful ignorance about most political issues. Then somehow I changed and started getting more involved. I knew I couldn't stand liberals, but didn't know why because I lived my life as one basically. Then I realized that they are phony and want the government to mandate everything I did for myself.
@williejenkins666 Same same here. Evolved, great way to say it. Ha, if Darwin could see me now.
I grow very weary of the gimme crowd that actually believes that the gov't will take good care of them. The gov't can't do much right, they've gotten way to big and are now getting way out of control. Read the first four pages of The History of the Gestapo and you will see the way it is done. Four pages really opened my eyes.
So anyway, I have no ideal candidate. If I did, I'd have someone who would be in line with libertarians on the social area, a bit "republican"/conservative in the military area with a LITTLE bit of common sense libertarianism thrown in on NOT getting involved where we shouldn't, and fiscally conservative/libertarian as well. End the welfare state, and I don't mind illegal immigrants that much. Don't end it? Send them all back.
@williejenkins666 I just want some damn ppl that still believe in what and who We the People really are, and these ppl to want to serve our country. A Congress that meets twice a year and TERM LIMITS. As a former Marine, I am torn apart by what I see, and what will be left to my two kids. Common sense....humph...you couldn't find a drop in Washington (or in the rest of the country..case in point WEREFEAT). Sooner or later the pressure cooker is gonna blow its top.
@ocerg1111 Truth is we already have socialized medicine which is why cost are so high. Gov. already sets the prices for 1/2 the HC system directly and the other 1/2 indirectly. They control production and consumption by determining the number of physicians; what services medical pros can offer and under what terms; where they can practice; who can open a hospital or purchase a MRI, who can market a drug or device and what kind of insurance you must purchase etc.. they are the problem.
At this point, a law being unconstitutional means nothing. The Commerce Clause has become a catch all for anything congress wants to do. I'm glad to see there is token effort to obey the constitution, but lets appeal everything that passed under the Bush Admin for starters.
what a joke. non socialized health care is from the dark ages and completely oppressive of the middle class

Right wing activist judge. neato. I hope everyone who have been paying their insurance premiums but lose coverage anyway because of a PEC come to this judge and the republican party for healthcare after its repealed.
ocerg1111 1 year ago

Waste in medicare/medicare is huge
quizerry 1 year ago

Toddinfantry 1 year ago
@Toddinfantry Liberals are jackasses. Anyone with a brain knows the goal of Obamacare is to push costs onto insurance companies until people simply cannot pay for it anymore and demand the government do something about it... and that's when they step in and take over the whole system.
They just need to whittle down all the insurance companies only to a few which are easier to take over.
williejenkins666 1 year ago
@williejenkins666 I have read your posts Willie and find you got your head screwed on straight, thanks. I will disagree though that liberals are jackasses. I find jackasses on both side of issues. That said, liberals are the type of ppl that want the "easy" way. Liberalism is the easy route, let the gov't decide all things for you and just drone along. We have been giving entitlements to these ppl for so long, it is becoming a way of life for many and turning that mindset around is not easy.
Toddinfantry 1 year ago
@Toddinfantry Oh, you are right. There are jackasses on both sides.
Over the years I have changed my opinion on politics. I've evolved.
At first, I was generally ignorant. I lived in blissful ignorance about most political issues. Then somehow I changed and started getting more involved. I knew I couldn't stand liberals, but didn't know why because I lived my life as one basically. Then I realized that they are phony and want the government to mandate everything I did for myself.
williejenkins666 1 year ago
@williejenkins666 Same same here. Evolved, great way to say it. Ha, if Darwin could see me now.
I grow very weary of the gimme crowd that actually believes that the gov't will take good care of them. The gov't can't do much right, they've gotten way to big and are now getting way out of control. Read the first four pages of The History of the Gestapo and you will see the way it is done. Four pages really opened my eyes.

@Toddinfantry I'll read that. Thanks for the advice.

@Toddinfantry

Toddinfantry 1 year ago
