this is not a bash but an observation. You failed to mentioned that you need to have the ipad on a wifi environment in order to make calls. Believe me there are tons of people that did not know that. LOL.

I have iPod Touch (no iPad though), I have 3rd generation (w/o the built in mic, I think the 4th gen has the built in mic?) so what I do is plug my headset in (it includes a built in mic) and you can use Skype. You also reviewed Textfree with Voice before. You can use that to make calls, too. :)

@roxcyn The gen 3 has a mic just not in the touch. Take one of the ear bud with a mic in it (got one with my blackberry). Plug it into your gen 3 touch, download skype and give it a try. Mine works great.
