Had you had a few before the vid started? I like real ale as you know. But I really like Lager in the summer. I live in Asia so I'm not subjected to the crap they get in the UK anymore - Fosters and Carling etc. In the summer Im on Kirin , Asahi , Sam Adams , Krombacher you name it..
Fosters is a particularly crap lager, i can sum it up easy to drink bland lager that is marketed as a lads thing. Its not trendy as i know a few who don't really like beer but drink a lager now and again because its most suppressed taste of beer without actually not being a beer. Its the same reason why a lot of women drink wine or vodka its drummed into people as being acceptable and refuse to try anything else.
A lot of folk don't drink for the taste, they drink for various other reasons.
@KieranD212 Totally agree with you on this matter, throw 1 million pounds into an tv advertising campaign and the sheep will follow, the Carling adverts make me laugh, the ones centred around drinking with your mates, total crap, but pity those fools who buy into it, leaves us to drink the good stuff, cheers
@BeerGogglesReviews Accepted the video response my friend now to watch it :) Have you seen the SIBA video I made at Ludlow Terry?? Posted it yesterday, there is a brewery I want you to check out, they completely wiped the floor with all the other brewery's there, they won everything. I reviewed their Oracle, they are called Salopian Brewery, watch my review plus google them, it would be great if you could get there Darwins Origin on your show. Cheers Terry
@realaleguide Have I seen the SIBA video? HEHE Mate I've posted it on my facebook page, and I urge anyone that likes good beer to do the same. GREAT VIDEO, AND A FANTASTIC HONOUR for one of us youtube guys. Vids like this is why. Redressing the balance between Mass Marketing Hypnosis and listening to a friends beer advice. You took the bullet here so others don't have to.
there's different types of fire extingishers for different fire situations................ like carbon dioxide, water, foam..... etc so yes there are fire extingishers that contain carbon
as a young person i can say i hate this slop. It's just not nice to drink. I prefer carlsberg export, and san miguel lagers although that probably still goes down as mass produced slop round this part of youtube aha. I'm a Guinness fan though and next time I go out I'm intending on giving Old Speckled Hen a go. Enjoying your videos a lot, I'm definitely keen to try some good real ales in the near future!
@MrsNesbit1 Thats good to here that you will be giving Old Speckled Hen a try, you probably couldnt have chosen a better ale to start off with, its a great drink, infact I picked up 10 cans of it for xmas day! Thats how highly I regard it, let me know what you think of it, thanks for watching and cheers.
@realaleguide Hello again! well ive had a few beers over the festive period including old speckled hen but also some others such as Timothy Taylor's landlord, Black Sheep ale, black sheep riggwelter and hobgobln. i have to say they were all really nice although personally i wasnt keen on the hobgoblin. Good stuff though!
@MrsNesbit1 Wow, you drank some fine Ale's over xmas, Riggwelter, Black Sheep Ale. and Old Speckled are top draw in my view, Hobgoblin is good, but to be honest I havent tried the Timothy Taylor landlord yet, im really glad you got to try some of these Ales, are you hooked yet?
There are a RARE FEW good lager beers, but they really are a rare breed. Quite a few of the black lagers are nice, but on a whole, lager is handy for cleaning glass when you've run out of vinegar, and this mass debated, mass produced satan's seed is one of the worst. I'd say pour it down the sink but the toilet seems more apt.
@MrTerryKay Im having to review these type's of Lager's for a project im working on, that is the only reason im drinking this slop, I hate these types of Lagers and the adverts that go with them, Cheers Terry thanks for watching.
As I said in your channels comments section, 'You deserve a medal of valour for services above and beyond the call of reviewing duty for trying to convert the multi-media mediocratic mind massaged masses into sticking their necks out as individuals and enjoying a class drink. The way you point out, not what flavour sensations are in it, but what it's drinker misses, is great.
@MrTerryKay WOW your comments are great Terry, you have me in stiches "multi media mediocratic mind massaged masses". That comment is worth bottling in itself, Thanks Terry, make sure to come back to my channel with your fabulous sense of humour, Cheers Buddy.
@MrTerryKay lezajsk and lech are brewed poland but there there more of a german lager, dose warsteiner, hacker psckorr, or shneiderweisse brew any polish beer,s.?
Tried Lezajsk Pelne a while back when I was with a nice Polish lady. I was quite refined for lager but still not really to my taste. As I say though, there definately are some nice lagered beers but they are a very thin layer of the cream fermenting slowly at the top of a huge vat. If you can list a few unquestionable hits, I'd love to try them.
@MrTerryKay lezajsk and lech are brewed in poland but there there more of a german lager, dose warsteiner, hacker psckorr, or shneiderweisse brew any polish beer,s.?
@zeinbrug Hi Zeinbrug. Terry Kay here. Found a few nice lagers later since this. Utenos do gorgeous lager, and recently reviewed a Pivovar. Not as flavoursome as Utenos but still a beauty. So even the anti-lager man is finding a few good ones. COOL!
@AU043223 Its dreadful isnt it, that means the company has a 100% monopoly over Australia because Fosters Group own Victoria Bitter, Poor Aussies all they get to drink is hybrid Fosters, thanks for the comment and cheers
@spizzenergie Hello Pal, im going back to a few proper Ale's tonight to review. This beer was dross, really bland. If I just change one persons mind on this subject I wont mind, Real Ale's are becoming more popular here but are only taking a small dent out of these massive lager companies, thanks for watching this, Cheers
I watched some of your reviews very good. You reviewing macros? That's good. Every beer deserves a review at least. Have you tried any American craft brews?
@StumpyJoeJr Hello Ryan, no the Aussie's dont do they, its huge here along with Carling and Carlsberg, the reason I reviewed this is I just got angry after watch tv advert after advert, I stood up grabbed my camera and a Fosters ( my Wife drinks it! ) and filmed a review. Is it the same where you live Ryan that people buy whatever the adverts tell them to buy? it gets up my nose. Cheers buddy.
@realaleguide Yeah, even though we have a fantastic craft beer scene in San Diego there are still plenty of people drinking the mass produced lagers. The cheap Mexican lagers are really popular here.
@StumpyJoeJr Im writing this right now after reviewing 2 beers the second beer being DogFish Head 90 minute Imperial IPA, I can hardly see the keys im typing with WOW thats a top beer, Cheers Buddy
Are you certain that slight bitterness is due to hops? It's cold, it's wet, it's fizzy (there's your 3) and is backed by mass advertising. This stuff is fermented out in about 90 minutes (rather than hours) it should be well fruity, so they must filter out most of the flavour to give it an acceptable clean palate. Made to a price (4pence about ten years ago?), not a standard.
Tried this stuff on draught (24 years ago), took 15 pints to get me wobbly. Look out for Booker's brand, tasty
@TheBeebopper Hello there, it was so bland I struggled to find anything in the flavour there was a hint of bitterness but not much. It would probably take me 15 pints too and id be up all night back and for the toilet, he he, Iv got some good reviews coming that im shooting tonight, Dogfish Head, Adnams, and maybe a Manchester Bitter, Cheers pal.
Wow, I am glad you started talking about drinking to get drunk. I have a few friends who have given up drinking but they still love beer. There are very few of the Non-Alkaholic beers out there worth drinking. So I just bottled a half batch of N/A homebrewed Brown ale to see how it works out. As soon as it is carbonated I will do a review.
@hoppinglion01 That would be very interesting to watch, will you send it to me when your finished, I think people find it hard to admit that they drink to get drunk, when most do, although im really enjoying the flavours of beers I always want 5 or 6 to get merry, LOL, Cheers
@ComedyRoundTheCorner If you just want to get drunk and not experience the road getting there, pour out a 7pound bottle of discount shop vodka with Ribena and knock back. Wait for effects to kick in. When you fall back on the floor knock back three cans of Fosters and throw up (a washbowl or three is useful) . Now you know why the four pack was developed, one can so you know you dont like it and three more to help clear out the system.
@ComedyRoundTheCorner Thats the reason why it sells so well but if people understood how weak it was compared to a good Ale im sure they would pay a bit more after all you dont need anywhere near as much Ale, I totally agree this stuff tastes like crap, Cheers Buddy.
@ChadzBeerReviews Im struggling big time with this camera Chad but my wife bought it for me and I dont want to let her down, im not the best setting up a camera, I took the light away for this review but in the review of Cornish Knocker I had a light set up next to me and it made my hair glow! LOL. Iv phoned Toshiba to ask if they are releasing a firmware update to get the zoom working on 1080p but they say no the camera has maxed out its full potential.
Fosters was actually the very first beer i ever tried, i think the allure of their big drum can made it look cool haha. Was way too bitter for me though, ended up not liking it, and went for some others that were a bit smoother. I think once my pallet grows a bit with more sophisticated beers and ales, ill have a very similar opinion as you do. Its easy to be "good" at something, but its hard to be "great". I think ales truly try to be great, while lagers just try to be there.
@Pibbmasta Very well said I totally agree there is a market for this type of beer and the big breweries know this and totally exploit it, im sure you will love Ale's soon, it took me a while, Cheers buddy.
Haha nice to see you review some mass produced stuff. Its fun to do reviews like this once in a while, because they often are so bad xD But sometimes a craft lager can be nice. I had the Victory Prima Pils a while back, it was very nice with hoppy and floral notes. German Doppelbocks e.g. are also lagers, and they are often quite nice, very malty and caramelly. But the mass produced stuff is just a shame. Great review Simon
@TheMasterOfHoppets I like the German stuff, im also quite partial to a san migueal spannish lager, but this was bottom of the barrel stuff, I can see why teenagers drink it though, I will write them beers you mentioned down and try them one day cheers Peter
@realaleguide The cheap bottled lager to have used to be the Chech Budweiser, laterley known as Budvar. A little malty compared to the normal pils style we are used to in UK.
My (beer) gut instinct is to slate it and agree with your comment about advertising / brainwashing and, to a degree, I do feel the same way about hugely promoted bland products. However, some people seem to prefer (we can debate about them being conditioned to prefer) fizzy, bland beers. I'm still irked by my visit to a pub last weekend, the nearest I could get to bitter was John Smiths Smooth and indeed it was. Its smoothness was not hindered by much to excite the taste buds. Too cold too.
@BrewTubeUK Hello there, what is that all about, making extra cold bitters and extra smooth bitters, im sure its all down to trying to sell the wretched stuff, im also sure the extra cold stuff used to give me a terrible hangover, I dont get that with the proper Ales and craft beers, Cheers Pal.
@realaleguide Unfiltered beer contains yeast, which is valued as a food supplement for its vitamin B content. Brewer's Yeast, Marmite, Vegemite. Alcohol let's your body release toxins from muscles and organs, the B vitamins help your body to expel these toxins. No yeast, no B vitamins, means headaches for most.
Low CO2 gassed beers (smooth) mmean less puking for keg beers, so they can always sell you the 15 pints, if you have the time and good shoes.
i can sum up a fosters in 3 words STALE, DONKEY ,PISS ,,ha ha ha ,,well done mate for putting yourself through that ,it wouldnt be me ,,ha ha ha ,,good review mate ,couldnt agree with you more ,,peace out
