I understand how to plug in time signatures, chord progressions, tempo, and arrangements, but how do you control the melody on lead breaks? For example, if you want the fiddle to take the lead break in between the 2nd verse and the chorus, how do you control the melody that the fiddle plays? Typically the lead instrument will follow the melody that the vocalist has established. When your working on an original song, how do you accomplish this?
