Being a recruiter for the Pennsylvania state police, I have interviewed many women and seen many of them succeed. Just because they are females doesn't mean they can't do police work. I'm sure half of them would crush you in the academy.

@an85 Actually, he was not dumb at all. He saw the robber put the gun back into his pocket. He waited to inform the deputy to protect himself and her from getting shot. If you noticed, he watched the subject leave before saying anything. You can be certain he would have said something sooner if they guy turned around or appeared to be pulling the gun back out.

@an85 If he said something when the guy was still there, he could have pulled out the gun and shot both of them. He waited until the threat was gone before he alerted authorities. He may have saved both of them from harm, and I think a trained officer can catch a robber on foot, even if he has a head start.

So many of us complain about cops when we get tickets for speeding, but come a danger event, we stand back and let you put your life on the line. I hope that suspect was apprehended that night. I'm glad the suspect was older because a younger thug with that gun would have more than likely shot the deputy. Thank god that was not the case. HE immediate actions were incredible.
