just a suggestion, dont use the finger on the front of the disc. if your a newbie, it more often then not hinders the motion at the end and causes the disc to curve to the right. the type of frisbee he uses is any 175 gram disc. there is a larger snap of the wrist if you are throwing further.

initially I started playing with a finger on the rim. When you get better you can do it the other way. It feels awkward at first putting all your fingers on the rim for some people. Of course it works better. But since this was a video on basics I guess he just wanted to cater to people who find it awkward. =)
