  • Does anyone have any info on the NEWER bikes, how well do they hold up,do ya have to work on them all the time, and are they worth the money,I oun a 2004 Harley and it's NEVER left me on the road by myself.I want to buy a new ural, but I can't hook up with anyone willing to talk about their new ural.

  • Nice, but why not just buy a good used convertible mustang for the same money? at least with that you have a TON of added practicaility & safety. I am a rider, been riding bikes for 23 years since I was 6, but for the money, why really bother with one of these?

Yes their cute and all, but for what this does I think a car would really be the answer.

  • OK. I've been looking and researching Ural for the last couple of months... The first time I saw one I loved how retro all the Urals look. I've never owned a motorcycle and have limited funds. I have one question how do you remove the sidecar?

  • are the ural motorcycles suitable for road trips from state to state? in other words are they ok at reachng speeds uf up to 75mph on free ways being the average speed for vehicles in most free ways?

  • I have a 2007 Tourist with 16,000 kliks on it. It runs like a top.

  • why is he pronouncing ural like he has a broken tounge

  • The gear up is the only Ural for me.

  • in soviet russia, sidecar drives bike.

  • Russian Power!

  • send your hard earned money to mother Russia if you want ... I'm keeping my money right here in American Iron. BUY AMERICAN!

  • @jimnvirginia oh, you mean the harleys that are now designed in france and have the majority of parts produced overseas. partially assembled in america does not mean made in america...

  • @jimnvirginia ТВОЙ РОТ ШАТАЛ! урод!

  • Yes, add a sidecar to any bike and you might aswell be in a car, a total waste of time....

  • I live in Moscow and I've never seen a single one of these on the streets. Weird...

  • @minibus1351 Here in Vladivostok I see some and especially in suburban areas of Vladivostok; I guess Moscow is too busy with BMW's and Mercedes :P

  • @TonyFirelli I guess so. I really want to see one though.

  • Many parts of ural are made in western countrys. Like the piston from italy, piston rings from u.s.a and cylinders and charger from japan.

  • I'm really lookin into motorcycles, and am tryin to look at everything before I decide on anything, but sidecar motorcycles have always had my attention... I was wondering if it's possible to remove the sidecar and just drive the bike if you'd like to... anyone have an answer for a soon to be licensed motorcyclist? lol

  • @thalanoth Look at the price man, you'd be spending about 10 grand. I for one wouldn't want to do that, especially for yer first bike. I got mine off craigslist for 400 bucks :P

  • @thalanoth No, it isn't, at least not without serious work. Take a look at the front forks, they're designed to specifically work with a sidecar. Ural does make solo models as well. The Wolf, which looks entirely too much like a Hardly Dangerous for my tastes, and the Retro is also offered as a solo model.

  • @ExUSSailor ah, thanks for the info and reply =D

  • @thalanoth No problem!

  • I own a 2007 2 wheel drive Patrol and only a $4.76 flasher for the signal lights has kept it from being 100% trouble free bike in over 8,000 miles. The newer models have so many upgrades that the poor dependability is a thing of the past. I've given rides to friends from 9 years old to a birthday ride for a lady on her 82nd birthday. It brings a smile to people who just see it going down the road. What can be better than that????

  • stichergary has been riding across the USA since the beginning of April on one. No problems. Such a cool ride!

  • @stitchergary I own a 2005 Gear Up, and it's been trouble free for 5 years now. The only thing that I upgraded was the ignition to the Ducati unit. I even store it outside under a tarp. After being buried under snow from Dec-March, it started right up for me. They're incredibly tough, rugged, dependable bikes. Mine spends about 75-80% of it's time playing in the dirt.

  • i have a ural military prob 1998? have a lot of issues ith it as in starting and dependibility? its definnitly not a bmw class bike

  • i sell parts for all russian motorcicles

  • To anyone who's interested, buy a Ural, not a Chiang Jiang. The Russian bikes are OHV, have an alternator, and electric start. Chiang Jiangs have half the horsepower due to being flatheads, have a magneto, and are kick only. The Chinese have not updated the bike from the original BMW design from the 30's, the Russians have.

  • My brother and I inherited my dad's Gear Up, and now, my brother is looking to sell his Honda CBR so he's got more time to ride the Ural. It gets looks and smiles everywhere we ride it. Also, it is hell for tough, it sat outside, under a cover, all winter, and still started right up in May.

  • Why don't car manufacturers do more of this? Making new cars that look like older cars. I am seeing motorcycle companies doing it, but you never see car companies doing it. I'd pay more for a classic-looking new car.

  • Uni body construction reduces weight and minimizes materials."moor profit". Older cars tend not to be aerodynamically efficient. makes gas millage go up. "Mean's they wont sell" And there are a number of other reasons. But if your looking for a old new car try the lotus 7.

  • say, how bad would it be if i wanted to disconnect the sidecar and run the bike solo. as nice as the stability is during the winter months, i would rather have something that i could ride a bit more nimbly during nice days.

  • Ural does make a couple of solo models as well, I would think that's a more practical alternative to buying a sidecar and trying to modify it.

  • looks like heaps of fun

  • We have an '06 Ural Tourist and absolutely love it. So far, it's been completely reliable and it's a blast in the snow, even with the one-wheel drive.

  • I wonder how reliable are these Russian made machines?

  • From what Ive heard, VERY reliable if taken care of, and if something does break, they are supposedly very simplistic.

  • "Russian-made" and "Reliable" usually are not used in the same sentence.

But from what I hear, these are (usually) the exception

  • "Never having to worry about shaft drive maintainence, or failure"?

    He doesn't own a Ural.

  • He says "never having to worry about DRIVE-CHAIN problems!!" Dumbass.

  • never heard of them before don,t have a dealer in new orleans

  • I have URAL modificated in chopper ) Good thing

  • This is a good bike but I'd rather have German though, no offense.

  • ural is a german, sort of......its a duplicate of ww2 bmw motorcycle

  • Ural is not German! BMW is superior. It's ok, I like Ural. Anything with shaft drive is superior.

  • only downside is that you lose little more torque and horsepower with a shaft drive than whith chain drive. but shaft drive is superior in maintainance. I think it is worth it...

  • chain drive is primitive, I will never ride anything with a chain, even my bicycle is shaft driven

  • China also can best offer BMW CJ750 sidecar from Luke's sidecar shop.

  • I looked at one of these bikes and BEFORE you get the bike you have to pay up front for them that is completely BOGUS. Also delivery would be 1-2 months on the bike we wanted.

  • Narrator is a liar when says that ural is the only sidecar bike with 2WD. Even if he consider only bikes steel in production. For example: Dnepr MT16 , chinese copy of BMW R75 (steel in production), and old bikes: BMW R75, Zundapp KS750, MW 750 or Gnome-Rhone 800.

  • u cant :DDDD u can those bikes in eastern europe, because we have a lot of them and also we dont have any problems with parts just because russia is still very close to us :)

  • don't be afraid, we will stay close to you forever :)

  • where do i get one in the uk?

  • ural, une machine a remonter le temps!!

    j'adore

  • shaft driven, tranny w/reverse, two wheel-drive option, pretty impressive, where do i sign up!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This video was created by Ural enthusiasts from Digital Dog Production in Minnesota.

  • ural forever

  • yeah, Ural rulezz

  • VIVA URAL...HARLEY PIECE OF SHIT
