  • NDP will ruin the country, but hey at least we will have good EI benefits when we start loosing our jobs.

  • Oh wow, Ignatieff's whole platform is "democracy" and letting other points of view flourish. He means his point of view.

If he was in Harpers position then he would block all conservative opinion guaranteed. He sounds like a little kid that isnt getting his way and he seems really anxious and desperate - like a little kid that knows he isnt going to get his way so he loses his temper and cries out that the world isnt fair.

  • I wonder how many times the word "democracy" was pronounced throughout the debates... I also wonder if any of them really understand that democracy is really just a mob rule, so if three of them vote to hang Harper right there, then Harper's out of luck... The rule of law is what's important. I wish they were saying "Liberty" as often as they say "Democracy"

  • They probably went out afterwords to have a beer laughing about what they just argued about. Gilles Duceppe didn't go though, he separated himself from the group.

  • "I simply don't accept the TRUTHS of those attacks."

He knows them to be true. He just won't accept them.

First ever contempt of Parliament. He's been ruining Canada for too long already. Ministers up on fraud charges? Senators with criminal pasts.

Backroom secret international deals that spend our money without our permission. He thinks he's a king. Even changing the letterhead from 'The Government of Canada' to 'The Harper Government'.

  • I don't like Ignatieff's idea of staying in Afghanistan. I like Layton though, he seemed honest, that is the lesser of all the evils lol

  • @jsiszero Ye, Layton also answers questions. Ignatieff just says " Well Harper _______" fill the blank.

  • "This isn't bickering Mr. Harper this is democracy"- Michael Ignatieff Epic!!

  • why is the french guy there hes not making any points

  • @arrow531 He's making a point, you just have to get through the heavy accent.

  • @boipinoi604 More like pulling numbers out his assssss

  • @leejae Hes not that bad, I mean he does make few points. He's good to have around to have them in check.

  • Harper's the only one that can't back up his claims of "success" with actual examples... :S Get him out.

  • @KillerHurdz Exactly, he say's that everything is on the right track, and that he has a plan to get out of the recession and balance the budget, yet there is a huge deficit and now he wants to cut taxes for big business.

We definately need a reform here.

  • The media manipulates us all. Most of them have a liberal agenda. It is obvious from CBC and CTV from Montreal.

It is hard to know what the real truth is. But when you don't have any more drinking water in your taps, or are having daily outages of electricity, vote for a different government. So far Harper has delivered the goods.

  • @9tyube9 +1 for sarcasm

  • @9tyube9 If you have not lived without water and electricity, you don't know what I am talking about.

  • I agree we should have proportionate representation....not vote for people in ridings.

    green party - 900,000 votes, 0 seats. bloc quebecois - 1.3 million votes - 50 seats.

    LOL

  • Harper will never be able to get a majority...Canada is a centre-left country

  • Harper's lying in everyone's face right there...... who the hell votes for him ?!?!??! Why is he still there ?! Cal**sss I don't understand it. I don,t want that robotic god freak in a majority and dismember our country. It's time to rise from our shitty reputation and do something. Please, if anyone is willing to not vote, cancel your vote or vote somebody else than Harper, for our Country's sake.

  • @Gabice93 agreed!

  • So Harper is saying to Canadians: "I know I am only for the interest of the Big Oil and big corporations, etc, but you HAVE TO vote for me to form a majority , otherwise you're all going to be F**Ked up." What an infantile way to put it. In fact, any of the major parties (perhaps except for Bloc) can say that! What a stupid, chubby, ignorant fool we have as PM!

  • @kkamizadeh I wish more people would think like that. And yes, I'm Québecois and I think it's quite silly to think that the Bloc could ever be elected as a federal gouvernement. "This is not some pesky little irrelevance that gets in the war of your power, that's how democracy works" soooooooooooooooooooo true. Harper doesn't seam to understand that.

  • @kkamizadeh I wish more people would think like that. And yes, I'm Québecois and I think it's quite silly to think that the Bloc could ever be elected as a federal gouvernement. "This is not some pesky little irrelevance that gets in the way of your power, that's how democracy works" soooooooooooooooooooo true. Harper doesn't seam to understand that.

  • @Gabice93 I think more Canadians are realizing that. Just look at the polls recently for Harper's Conservatives: Only two (2) weeks ago, they were comfortably above 40% (even with the usual margin of error), now they are struggling to get back up to the majority zone. Ultimately, it will be the swing riding voting inclinations that will decide the elections and I think precisely those people are realizing the stupidity of Harper's arguments. The decline in poll numbers is not in Alberta, for sure

  • @nipplit

It's all fine and dandy to have a PM "face a shit storm", but how is Harper going to handle the storm of rising heatlhcare costs, education, pensions, infrastructual deficits AND balance our budget in the years to come w/ his wreckless spending in military? We are NOT going to become a military powerhouse ever. This is wasteful spending when so many other things need money. If he really had balls, he would face that music.

  • @polymathforever your obviously not part of the military... our military equitment is sub par at best.

  • @nipplit

No party was against stimulus packages. In fact, the opposition parties were the ones that PUSHED for stimulus packages across the country b/c classica Conservative ideology is against stimulus. Harper did those things out of political necessity and having a minority government helped the economy, not hindered it b/c he HAD to take into account the views of the opposition parties for stimulus.

  • @nipplit also if a party or party leader is willing to take such drastic measures for a little show speech, like using RCMP to check ppls facebook pages, I really don't see how they've earned anybody's trust

  • @nipplit First of all, Canada is extremely rich in natural resources with a small population and a large influx of immigrants. Not to mentioned that Canada supplies US with almost a thirds of its demand for oil, and oil prices have been increasing for years. So I don't fully agree with your statement about them keeping the economy strong.

  • Harper Rocks! The absolute best PM in history. Keep kicking ass Harper, keep Kicking ass!

  • Harper is such a liar!! If you win the confidence of the house then you get to form the government. It is NOT necessarily the party with the most seats.

  • why does harper talk the most! ? ! democracy ?! being fair? !

  • Harper being a liar does not make Ignatieff more appealing.

  • Ignatieff is absolutely right that the prime minister needs to earn the confidence of the house. Yes Mr. Harper, that's precisely the way our democracy is 'supposed to work.'

That's the difference between our system and the Americans'.

  • Duceppe is the most honest liar among the thieves.

  • @dooob69 He always has been.

  • Jack Layton and Harper seems to be the only cool headed people... Ignatiff is making no sense... and the bloc just needs to succeed.

  • Ignateff is a bloody broken record, repeating the same things over and over again and not saying anything about his party's platform.

  • Obvious to me the NWO's choice for Canada is the Conservatives or Liberals.....don't mind the other 2 guys...

  • we definitely need proportional representation; i'm tired of being ignored

  • @cruiscinlan I've been saying the same thing since 2007. I lived in Germany for 9 months and this system works so effectively. Harper said (a coalition) or proportional representation is undemocratic. If so, I guess he thinks 2011 Germany isn't a democracy?!

  • @stevenaudet

Minority and proportional rep would work if the parties were willing to work together, but they're not. The Libs have had a majority for so long that they think they're entitled to it. The Conservatives finally have some real power and don't want to give it up and the NDP's are like hyena's nipping at everybody's heels.

  • harper keeps referring to the government when he means the Conservatives; the government includes all elected MPs and senators.

  • i live in ottawa and i've never been invited anywhere to give my input; harper is full of shit

  • @cruiscinlan Your not the only one

  • @cruiscinlan Your not the only one.

  • Harper is wrong actually. In a Westminster style parliament you don't need to have another election to change government. If for example a conservative minority lost a confidence motion one or some combination of the other parties could ally either as a coalition (sharing ministries) or as an alliance (voting together) and govern. It's pretty simple.

  • but good on jack for suggesting parliamentary reforms, it almost made me think about voting ndp

  • ...no wonder 50% of the population doesn't vote. The car crash scene of canadian politics is so offputting. We have a sociopathic prime minister, a bunch of uncivilized power hungry bureaucrats attacking eachother, and one of the major parties (greens) not even allowed to participate in the debate because networks and harper (who tried to bar may from the debates in 2008) don't like what the party leader has to say. This is bureaucratic bullshit, not remotely resembling democracy.

  • @MrLittleredridinghoo I understand and agree with your points, exept when it comes to Parties, there are19 or so registered parties, including, the comunist party of Canada, and other really stupid parties. I do agree however that the green party has enough support to deserve a platform, however the other 14 do not.
