@Kelticgirl1 when i lived in RI for decades its capital city, Providence &surrounding towns were influenced by the Mob, with unions, payoffs, bribes, money laundering. Boston, which is less than an hour away from Providence, has had close ties with the mob in terms of having mob informants, much like Danny Greene was in Ohio. Whitey Bulger, the mob boss that was just caught in California over the summer, was an FBI informant, which was why he was never "wacked." Government is itself a Mafia.

@steve1mufc If you truely beleive there is no Irish mob here in the US, then you are an ignorant fool. EVERY race and ethnicity have those that are involved in organized crime, without exception. Most of them grew out of immigrant street gangs in the 1800s. Basically, they faced discrimination, as immigrants, from people who were born here, so they banded together to try and make their lives better.

The movie Gangs of New York also showed the struggle that the Irish had when they came to america, and showed that they are willing to fight for what they have. I am an American by birth but Irish by heritage and pride so I can honestly say that hollywood hasn't made the Irish look bad.

@BobTheGamerUK yeah I was wrong. I didn't like the actor at the start of the film but hes pretty cool. The lad hes based on was a legend. I watched a bit of a documentary on him and they said he killed something like 4 hitmen that came after him up until he got blown up.
