IN LATE 60s BY CHANCE I HAPPENED TO LISTEN HABIB SAHIB AT RABINDER RANGSHALA,

RIDGE ROAD,DELHI. IT WAS LATE EVENING,PIN DROP SILENT AND THERE WAS

SPELL BOUND PERFORMANCE OF HABIB SAHIB. I FOUND HIM THE REAL AND ONLY GENUINE SUFFI SINGER. HIS SUFFIANA ANNDAZ LEFT A LIFE LONG IMPACT ON MAY SOUL. HE WAS A REAL EXAMPLE OF GENUINE ART WITH SIMPLICITY. WHENEVER IM IN STRESS, FEEL DEJECTED AND LONELY I LISTEN TO HABIB SAHIB. GOD BLESS HIS SOUL WITH PEACE.

there is no equal to him even on this day. i used to listen to habib painter's qawwalis on juke box in artica's caffe behind kirorimal collge in kamala nagar, new delhi during 1969 to 1973. now i am in usa, but i miss those days when i along with my friends used to enjoy habib painters qawwalis, sipping coke with ice cream in that cafe. those were the days.

i remember listening to him in childhood years.he would refuse to sing any piece partaing to women in anything other than reverant tones coz he said to him,women were like godess parvati,,,,if the audience still insisted,he would ask one of the members from his group to sing instead,such quawals of such high moral caliber are indeed a thing of the past.
