In some cases, I believe it's ok to hunt animals for human needs. But wheres sustainability if you exterminate them? Isnt it logical that to keep doing what you want to do you will need input resources?

All I know is that I for one put all thoughts of buying a Japanese car out of consideration precisely because of their whaling policies, so I have to believe that whaling hurts their economy more than it helps. Economy is not about making money. Thats a fake concept the media has created.
Economy is about regulating social activities that satisfy human needs (including among many others, the act of exchange). Always thinking towards the preservation of the cycle these activities generate.
In some cases, I believe it's ok to hunt animals for human needs. But wheres sustainability if you exterminate them? Isnt it logical that to keep doing what you want to do you will need input resources?

Economics doesn't necessarily include the preservation of a resoruce if it's already a necessity of a society. Oil is a great example: we use oil and its processed bi-products on a day-to-day basis.
It's tragic that part of the Japanese economy depends on the farming of whales, but simply forcing them to stop will just cause another problem. Everyone employed in the process from hunting to packaging and selling will be out of work.

You're right on that. But from that point of view, even killing people for "economical reasons" (Absurd example) could be understood from economics, since it could generate jobs, trade instances,etc.
What I'm trying to say is, since economics is a science that only studies and explains social phenomena it doesn't have criteria to justify the acts that are observed. And under that circumstances, how come Economics has become the guideline to human activities?

Stupid Japanese don't realize reproductive cycles of marine species like whales. Its not that many at all. Plus, there is always danger so many newborn die from shark attacks or from other incidents. To them, we reproduce like roaches at an astounding rate. Same goes for bears, every several years and only 2 to 5 cubs. This is why its important to look after all species. Where is the Japanese scientific paper that they claim they hunt whales for research we all know its for food. This must stop

They do work hard, and more demanded from them then from other nations. The thing is, not all Japanese eat whale meat. But the problem is, is the old tradition of going out to hunt. What they fail to realize is that whales do not reproduce at a fast rate & there is no need to constantly eat seafood.

People for thousands of years only took what they needed. No more no less.There was little to no waste compared to now. Greed, desires, new ways changed all that. Do u honestly think that Europeans would hunt a species to the brick of extinction the way Japanese do it. Even several centuries ago when Japan was closed to the world, they did not hunt that much. Unlike us, whales do not reproduce at will. They have certain cycles and Japanese fail to see that.

Japan is roughly the size of Montana, Montana's population is 974,989. So for every 1 person in Montana there is round about 130 people in Japan.
Do the math, you try to feed that amount of people in that small an area without fishing.

Whales are extremely complicated and depending on a species, they can live for more than 100 years. So now tell me why Japan must go out and hunt them? They are liars. They use some bullshit clause that allows them to hunt whales for study. When we all know its to satisfy their bullshit tradition when its not needed anymore.

@ravengurl100 Why do people think this is the reason they care about whaling? It has nothing to do with its intelligence. Eating meat isn't wrong as long as the resource your eating is renewable. That's why we eat beef because we have farms to keep producing it.
Japanese don't have whale farms to reproduce what they take. They just keep killing whales without any thought to the species going extinct.

But hunting and killing things is fine if the hunting rate is lower then the regeneration of the species in question. The only problem is there are a lot more humans then there use to be when the human race as a species were hunter and gatherers.

All I know is that I for one put all thoughts of buying a Japanese car out of consideration precisely because of their whaling policies, so I have to believe that whaling hurts their economy more than it helps. (It's easy to avoid at least some of their products if you try. It's up to the Japanese to make it no longer necessary that we have to try to avoid profiting their country.)
