not really. I did it all by 'eye' - no rulers or tape measures involved :). I modelled them in robot form first, then when tranformed into car form it was just a case of scaling things to fit

dam you got skills would have been nicer if galvatron aka:megatron looked like he did in the anmated movie but this still looks incredible you should do this for a living you should make more like this Street fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dragon Ball Z etc and start your own website that people could pay a monthly fee to watch or download your videos.

Wow... for that ammount of time, you sure made one great looking remake of the battle scene. A little more work and it would become a total 3D remake of the movie, which I'm quit sure fans will welcome.

Wow, rigging those guys to transform must have been tough. What kinda rigging system did you use? A custom bones system? Do the bones facilitate the transformation, or is there some trickery in there? Good job.

Hi there,

I did consider using Bones or the Biped system, but neither of them would work to how I wanted them. So instead I had to use dummies at all points where parts would move.. so thats about 30-40 dummies per transformer. It got a bit complicated but the end results were good enough for me :)

looks good for a fanvideo nice work but i what i don't get is why you din't animate Hod Rod and Galvatron a CGI G1 show/movie/mini series/dtv movie would look great (if done right) so you chould have made a video were we see what a G1 CGI movie would look like still this looks nice

i personally think its god-awful because just look at galvatron, he looks fairly stupid because galvatron just isnt a car like person and if G1 in anyway re-animated in 3D things look stupid, especialy if its in alternators. nice effort, but its a descrace to G1.

Well, the guy that animated this was being diffrent and since he didnt have a to scare galvatron and hot rod/rodimus prime lying around he probaly used his alternators, so no its not a discrace its an honor

I just deleted someone's comment by mistake. "why didn't you use the G2 transformers?"

2 reasons really:

1) The G2 transformers look damn amazing in the cartoon, the toy versions didn't look that good - especially Galvatron. Hot Rod was kind of ok in robot form.

2) I thought that by re-doing this scene using different models would add a little spice. I had 2 Alternators sat in my drawer getting dusty so I used them. Plus, the Alternators are amazing in both vehicle and robot form.

Actually there was never a G2 cartoon series.

It was just the rest of G1 after the movie. G2 was just a 12 issue comic series that shared half its life with G.I. Joe.

one word....wow. EXCELLENT job on synching the movie voices/sound effects with your movie!!! man i got caught up in the moment when "you got the touch" came on. thats a classic movie. i followed transformers for a long time and watched that movie and it was just amazing and still is!

This one took about 9 hours to render.. give or take.. I rendered out 4 scenes and then stuck them together using Windows Movie Maker.

My dancing animation I think took about 2 hours to render... but I did that about 3 years ago.

Haha, nice effort. Swindle looks really weird as a Herald of Unicron though, I must say (his personality is NOTHING like Galvatron) - and I personally would've used Swindle's G1 cannon instead of Galvatron's plasma cannon. Ah well. Arise, Overdrivemus Prime! :D
