  • ahh i want onee

  • Thats so pretty! Its Bull Snake looks like family Louisiana Pine Snake!

  • How much are these snakes worth cause i have one and want to sell

  • I didn't know these snakes are rare... We see them here in South Louisiana, i'd say, on a "regular" basis. I was making a deer plot with a track hoe just the other day, in the piney woods, for my father and we seen 1. It wasn't too big though. I knew it was non venomous.

The only venomous snakes we have here are the Cottonmouth, Copperheads (we call them rattlesnake pilots for some reason) and Rattlesnakes. Ive been living here for 26 years and came across my first rattlesnake last year...

These are arguably the rarest snake in North America and there has only been 250 documented cases since its discovery in 1929.

  • I am well aware of their current status and rarity in eastern Texas and Louisiana. I am fortunate enough to live with in an hour of quality habitat. I am also fortunate in the fact that I have a job checking snake traps for the US Forest Service in eastern Texas in an effort to find more P. ruthveni. I've seen a total of 5 animals, this was the first one I saw outside of a trap. I've spent well over a thousand hrs in the remaining habitat in the state to find this animal in the field.

  • make that 251 ;) haha

  • @CaterpillarGiraffe I own one

  • My Northern pines are the same way.But thats part of the reason I like them. They are very "spirited"!!!!!!!!

  • Cool, typical pine... Mine are noisier than my rattlers...LOL!

  • damn! what an awesome Piney!
