Beware of the Angry Watchmen by Carter Conlon - Part 4

There's one thing about this that troubles me. I wish I could ask Mr. Conlon about it. He makes reference to this group who would forbid marriage, along with doing many Godless things. The RCC is exposed in the Book of Revelation as Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots. As it happens, the RCC forbids marriage for its church leaders, both men and women. How do we know this prophecy on forbidding marriage isn't speaking of the behaviour of Babylon the Great?

this is a good message. and he is speaking directly about the kid of junk posted on youtube by tim conway and paul washer and "illbehonest". i may not agree with every detail of what this pastor may teach but i am in total agreement with his heart and this message. We must preach the Gospel of Grace and not the Law.

its a very good message, there is one but: Paul said in Acts 28 that he went about preaching repentance and for people to practice works worthy of repentance. What does that mean?

(continued) Paul the apostle warning the church. The book of Acts chapter 20 verse 25 until verse 35 your read how specifically Paul warns us how we ought to take heed that from amongst our own selves many shall rise saying false things and false doctrines of men (legalism) trying to mislead. I've heard it many times you dont need to pray, you don't need to fast, you don't need to go to church, being rich is a sin and even being poor means that your wrong with GOD and the list goes on and on.

Listen to his message "10 Indictments against the american church" and wait till he gets to the abberation concerning people saying the Church of God isn't one. He defends the Church like never before.

I agree with you there both preaching the truth(Carter Conlon and Paul Washer) not something different its a message to stay away from those who stray you from the Grace that is in JESUS CHRIST our LORD who paid the price for our sins that we would not have to work for salvation but receive it as a free gift not of works lest any should boast and as Romans 3 verse 23 says where is room to boast yet it is excluded. Yet today's preachings are misguiding people.

He is a very weighty preacher to the world. A world Christian. Sort of a 'current events' church. So the attitude should be taken as such, or else it can seem overly condemning to other legitimate forms of faith.

I think he should be a little more specific about what he is talking about. Cuz it would seem like he thinks these angry watchmen are ppl like for example Paul Washer that support that by accepting Christ in a prayer we have done nothing and thats not true christianity. I think that is the right message though. So this vid confuses me a bit. Maybe someone understood smth different?

paul washer is just making sure that the ppl who assume that they are saved, really are you kno? its an epidemic. so many ppl just assume that they are saved and dont have the holy spirit that convicts them of sin and leads to righteousness.

i dont think carter colons warning necessarily applies to paul washer. i agree with both of them

Washer always comes back in the end to the fact that Jesus loves us and that He is there waiting for us to seek Him. its not a hopeless message that he gives only pointing out what's wrong. he only says it so we are truly God's.

i think conlon's referring to people making barriers between us and God by putting rules etc that take our mind off the focus which is God.

there is going to be a "shaking" in the TV evangelist/prosperity preachers, and God is going to expose their sins and greed. Those Chrisitians who have followed these men are going to be shaken also and are going to try to find their way back to Jesus. The scoffers are going to make fun of them and we as Christians following the true Jesus Christ have to welcome them and not condemn them. Who forbids marriage and eating of meat? The Catholic Church Doctrine.

Where in the Bible does it tell us pastors to stop preaching to the world and the church. A born again person can sin - he/she has a free will and can choose.

@Cascade713 NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.. again another example of someone who does not know the Gospel at all and is utterly void in spiritual matters. Holiness is a GIFT from God. Your Holiness is as filthy rags before God. You can not get rid of sin. *period*. that is the whole point. Through Faith you receive righteousness as a free Gift and Justification before God. As you grow in this you will love more and more and thus sin less and less. ANYTHING ELSE is dead works of self righteouness.

Don't misunderstand me at all.

I know that we are not to try to "earn" our favor with God.

And yet, the scriptures definitely do tell us somthing interesting in the letters in Revelation. Jesus addresses each church and says, "I know your works..." When Jesus says something twice, tis important. When he says it seven times, you better be ready to toss out some man made doctrines.

Do not be fooled. Faith without works is dead, and even the devils believe and tremble.

Wade, Im not sure if youre right or wrong but I can say that your response seemed a bit too full of vain knowledge and a bit to lacking in Love for the Church? The only thing I believe we should worry about as Christians in a very confusing and deceiptful world is that God commands us to Love Him and Love others. The rest of scripture is dead without us first obeying that command. If we truly seek His face, His commands, and His will... He will do the teaching and the preaching through us.

So something is wrong with the allegedly "good tree," when a person cannot tell the difference between the so-called Christians and the pagans and atheists based on lifestyle. In fact, in many cases, the pagans live more righteous lives than Christians.

If a person has corrupt fruit then that is the greatest evidence that they were never a real Christian.

In the church today, one can say, "I am a Christian," and you are like, "Wow, never would have guessed from your lifestyle."

People like myself get banned from Christian internet forums, including some of the largest, most successful ones in the world, for preaching holiness, because almost nobody who calls themself a christian wants to hear it.

One may say that they trust in Christ's righteousness (which comes by way of the Cross,) but if they live like the world, and certainly have more in common with the world than with the Biblical prototype of a Christian, then something is definitely wrong.

Paul says, "Justification by faith".

But James says, "Faith without works is Dead."

and Jesus says, "Ye shall know a tree by its fruit...a good tree cannot bring forth corrupt fruit."

Ironically, when the young rich man asked Jesus what must he do to inherit eternal life, Jesus did NOT tell him "Have faith"! He told him to keep the commandments! Then began listing the Ten Commandments.

This doctrine of "license to sin" which dominates the church today is a heresy.

Since he seems to be opposed to anyone rebuking the church, what does he do with the letters to the churches in Revelation?

What does he do with Ezekiel 16 and 17, in which God himself called Israel a "Contrary Harlot"? And what of other passages in Ezekiel where God literally says that a prophet who does not warn the people will have their blood on his hands?

Our modern church is so full of a mis-application of Pauline doctrine that they neglect the teachings of James, John, and Jesus

It will "look" like holiness. I've wondered why I've not be able to feel the Lord's love towards me. I've been listening to a VERY angry watchman lately. I'm SO grateful for this teaching!!
