I guess there are channels where films like this get played, but I don't know any myself (a drawbacks of 1 tier up from basic cable, maybe).Seems there's fewer over the years. A&E, years ago, before they went for ratings, became like every other station. Bravo maybe?

'Artsy', intellectual, such dirty dangerous words. Almost unAmerican! Found this after reading about Mindwalk Blvd, a band of talented teens who took their name from the movie. (Seems they too have what's called 'pretensions' :-)

The is a wonderful film that opens the mind to an interconnected view of our selves, our planet and the universe. More films should be made like this, films that make one think and question than just offer vapid entertainment.

I forgot about the devastating oppression suffered by the people of France. Always being subjugated by Algerians, Liberians, Vietnam, etc. Strange response, considering the movie goes out of its way to claim Americans are kinda stupid. By the way, maybe bigotry-- more like teasing, I think. But ignorance? What did I say that was ignorant? She's NOT French? It WASN'T a good movie? It WASN'T pretentious?

I watched this film in the early '90s and had to wait about 6 weeks because the video store kept running out of copies. Now I can't find it anywhere, not even at Netflix.

Any help?

The reason netflix does not have it because it has never been released on DVD. Try your local library, that's where I found one on VHS.
