It really did feel like an adventure, probably because back in the day when we got a game we knew next to nothing about them because websites didn't have all these gameplay videos and stuff before a game's release lol.

My main complaint about Ocarina of Time 3D was that the day/night cycle was way too short. This bothered me because the whole Hyrule Field song couldn't play in one day time. Ideally, they should have left just enough time in the day so that the softer part with the harp arpeggios would play at sunset and finish right as the day ends.
