Linkin Park was a last minute fill, Tool thinks of LP as a joke, Maynard has even said in several interviews that LP is nothing more than phenomenal marketing by a record label, which for those of you who don't have an education, it means they are an MTV pop group that was put together for money because they know pre-teen basement virgins will buy it thinking "OMG THESE GUYS ARE SO HARDCORE THEY ARE TOTALLY METAL" children of course being their target audience.

This is a horrible recording. If there was ever a reason why people shouldn't be allowed to record at concerts is because of the downright awful quality.
A was one of those people who was very skeptical about Dead by Sunrise taking up space on LPs set, i was miffed. But after this concert, i became a fan. Chester has passion and this band has the goods to succeed if all things were equal. this was my favourite song of them.
This has got to be one of the rudest and backward crowds in history.

I wasn't there so I can't comment on the performance. Maybe the DBS performance really did suck or they didn't fit in well with the Tool fans. Maybe it just wasn't at the right time or place. Maybe it was all of those things. However, what I can say is that DBS is not a bad band. It doesn't really matter how bad this performance was. You can't say that a band who has only released 7 songs and hasn't even released an album yet is bad. Well, I guess you can but you'll sound fucking retarded.
DBS is not my cup of tea, they sound too much like Gray Daze, and gray daze sounded behind the times in their day. They even managed to ruin Let Down and Morning after which were awesome Chester songs. I can assure you, there will be no more DBS albums. I don't know by what stick you measure if a band is good or not, but it's not the same for everyone. Public reception will tell if they're good or not, not your opinion.
I think we simply have a slightly different taste in music which is fine. I think Grey Daze was great and I think DBS is great based on what I've heard. I don't know if Grey Daze sounded behind the times but I will admit that DBS probably is because it has a Grey Daze resemblance. It's not the same though. And I agree that Let Down sounded better before but we still haven't heard the full album version. It's too early to say they ruined it. Same with Morning After.
And if there aren't anymore DBS albums, I won't be shocked. However, I don't believe it will be because of a lack of success. It will be because Chester has other obligations. I understand that everyone has a different way of judging bands. However, I also think most people are reasonable enough to allow a band to release one album or at least an EP before labeling them as good or bad. I never said DBS was a good band outright. I never said they would be. I simply said I don't think they're bad.
I wish Chester the best with his new band, but I'm not a fan of DBS at all. I think there was a place for them at Epicenter, just not mid-LP set, right before the headliner. It's borderline disrespectful to the crowd.
