Yeah Kurt was a great preformer, but that doesn't mean they wouldnt be as successful as they still are if he hadn't of passed, they could still be making great records and doing quite well out of it. Cobain's version is so distinct from the Bowie version - both are brilliant. It is the best cover of a song - it does nothing to reduce the original, but adds dimensions of fate, induced comatose religion and other artifacts you can unearth by listening to it more than a couple of times. The original was about madness. This one is about fate. My view entirely. But it is a great cover as it complements, sort of makes love with the original.
