• My children and I sing along with you during our morning devotional. Thank you for such lovely playing and singing!

  • @Susq15 You're most welcome! Glad to be of service!

  • God bless you, brother. Very heart warming.

  • Very beautiful, brother!

  • @DennyDFW Thank you. Glad it ministered to you!

  • Oh the precious truth of this song.

How I wish they could see.

I wish all would see the peace and joy and DESIRE it.

Gods message is this people of the world.

What God has done for me, He will do for YOU.

Are you in chains? Is your life in bondage??

    But time is running out.

When he returns and shuts the door, its over.

Oh how sad..... ITS A FREE GIFT !

    JESUS IS THE ANSWER

  • Diggin the Giannini one of my friends has one from back in the day.

    Nice pickin by the way!

  • Beautiful as usual. Jeanny

  • Wow amazing brother thanks a lot. God bless.

  • very nice... tnx for sharing uncle.... Praise the Lord

  • I graduated high school in 1972, and the way you play is very similar to the style that I used to play in high school. I grew up on the Wedgwood Trio, Take Three, and Peter, Paul, and Mary. I'm sure that if you and I got together, we would enjoy playing the similar kind of music. So what I do is play your videos and sing and play along. It is very much a blessing. I have a Martin D-28, Yamaha 12 string, Classical, and 5 string banjo. I fingerpick with banjo fingerpicks on the guitar.

  • @guitarcountry1 4 years I wanted a D-28, until I finally had the money 1 day and decided 2 buy a Taylor instead! For years the only guitar I had was a Yamaha 12 string! I bought it when I was 16 in 1972, and sold it in 1979, not long after I got married. I did have a 1949 Martin 000-18 for a while, but had to sell it along with a 1934 Dobro, a 1978 Les Paul Custom, and a Fender twin reverb amp when my son was born in order 2 buy baby furniture! I also like the Wedgwood Trio, T3, and P.P.&M. :o)

  • Someone posted the Take 3 Album on YouTube recently. I'm so glad because I have no idea what happened to my original album.

  • In 1971 I could have purchased a Martin D-28, but was fearful that it might get stolen somewhere along the path, so opted for the Ventura V-28 (copy of D-28). When you look on eBay you will see this is the brand that is referred to as the "lawsuit guitar." It has been my "D-28" until about a year ago, I decided to go for the Martin. Of course the Martins made in 1971 were better guitars than the one's called Martin today. I have really been very happy with the Ventura over the years.

  • i really can't tell you how happy I am that there are (free) simple scripture singing videos out there. thank you so much for uploading these videos!!!

  • jacki sir marvellous , felt like my soul is walking in paradise,

  • awsome job, praise God. your very talented. do you have tabs by any chance?, what kind of guitar is that?

  • I love what you do Sir :)

  • This is beautiful. I have listened to it a dozen times or so!

  • Wow, like you walked right out of the past at some Cursillo gathering.

  • I had never heard of Cursillo before, so I looked it up. Interesting! As for walking out of the past, I am 53 years old. I suppose I am part of the past!

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • i have listened to many of your songs i have ben blessed by everyone of them thx4 sharing Gods love with us i plan to post leaning on the everlasting arms soon hope you can watch it God blesses you brother

  • Jah bless u.

  • i love the song.. and the guitar..what's that?

  • It's a CraViola by Giannini vintage early '80s. The thing that makes this one nicer than some, although none I've played from that era are clunkers, is that this one has a solid cedar top. Most of them were laminated, but still had really nice sound. You can still find them on ebay from time to time, though I don't really recommend anything newer than the 1980s.

  • Man shall not live by bread alone,

    But by every word

That proceeds from the mouth of God.

    Hallelu! hallelujah!

    Amen!

  • Good song.

    Good singing.

    Good playing.

    Brother Don

  • The folk song is pleasant and that guitar is amazing (even just to look at)!

  • Sounds just FINE!!! 10k*

  • this is another one of those songs I sing as a lullaby to the kids I baby sit and my own

  • Great idea you gave me! Thanks!

  • I am glad I was able to help my kids are now 15 and 9. I used worship songs as lullabies and it was more relaxing then any song I could find.

  • excellent 5 stars, this song is very similar to As the Deer

  • Sounds just great! God bless you and watch over you!

  • I really, really, really, love this!

Sir, this song is so inspirational.

    God Bless You!

    God Bless all of Us!

Your Brother In CHRIST our LORD,

    Lorenzo

  • god bless u all.. ^_^

  • beautiful song and presented well...

  • used to sing this in school, but faster, what a tune!!!! amen!!

  • Very nice guitar sound. We do this song in church.

  • wnisimo ps

  • Amen.

  • what worth is it if you live it up on earth but then burn in hell or save your treasures on earth but burn in hell theres no worth in that i mean what you have that at most for 80 years really there is no worth in that

but if you save your treasures for heaven and live for christ and put your immortal ways aside you will live a happy eternal life

  • Lovely to hear this one played so nicely. Reminds me of when my mum used to sing it round the house and I'd say "Mummy we're not in church now". I was only 5 - how time and God can change us :-)

  • You cant hear this song and not be blessed, Unless you are lost then you wont get the plot.

  • Glad to hear you testify!

  • I love everything you play. One day you will play your instruments at the feet of Jesus in heaven and all the angels in heaven will dance.

  • I hope I'm a whole lot better musician by then!

  • All things in heaven is perfect. So you will play perfect. All will be well pleased and God will get all the glory.

  • Amen to that!

  • I love this song. I've heard it many times by many different people. This is my favorite so far. Wonderful playing, and I love your voice. God's Blessings..Susie

  • Fantastic playing and singing. A true God given talent and the best i have heard. I'll listen over and over again. Thank you

  • Very nice playing, I really like your folksy Peter Paul and Mary style. Check out my version as well and let me know what you think.

  • wow thats really really great. is there any chance u can get the into part of the tab to me? im supposed to play it in church and i'd like to play your version. i hope i do it justice good job!

  • I think I could probably tab this out for you, but you'll have to PM me your e-mail address in order for me to send it to you.

  • Wow! You are amazing brother! I love that song and the way you 'bring life to it'. You are so good on the guitar and I love your voice. Praise God!!!

  • Always makes me shed a tear when I hear this, a certain funeral tunes for me!!

  • Christian Church Maranatha

  • im not religious but me and my friend are playing this soon for some religious peeps! im on guitar and shes on violin. i wanted to know what it sounds like as i havent heard it.

im a bit of a geek lol

  • I'm not religious either. I just love Jesus and want to sing His praises!

Hope my rendition was helpful to you!

  • Jack, love your songs and the gift of God working in your life. Question: What kind of guitar is this you are playing? It is really very cool looking, and sounds good too.

  • To God be the glory! It's an early '80s vintage nylon-string CraViola made by Giannini. One thing that makes this one even more special is that it has a solid cedar top. Most of the CraViolas of that vintage were made of all laminates including the tops. The sides and back of this one (as with most of that vintage) is made of laminated Brazilian rosewood.

  • Sounds great! I love the sparsness of it too. You don't try to make it a pop song. Very peaceful song here. Love the lyrics of course. Nice arpeggio's too.

  • Glad it meets your approval! To God be the glory!

  • I like it! But how many guitars do you have? I think I've seen a different one with every video you've made. Very nice!

  • I don't know, I probably have about half a dozen or so, not counting ukuleles at the moment. It's a weakness I have. I have sold or given away far more than I have.

  • Awesome! And hey, when you get in the "giving" mood again, look me up! Glad to help! Ha ha.

  • Through the death of Christ, we are now all God's chosen people.

EverythingTold. I would not be concerned with who is going to heaven or not because we do not and can not know the will of God like that. Just love like the Lord has taught you and be an example as the Lord would have you.

    Peace be with you.

  • Slightly hypocritical there eh?

  • "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life" 1 John 5:13

    (the emphasis is added)

"Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the gentiles ot make Isreal envious." Romans 11:11

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him SHALL NOT perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (added caps)

  • "Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death" Romans 8:1-2

"Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the gentiles ot make Isreal envious." Romans 11:11

But don't take my word for it. Look it up! You don't know if I can be trusted.

    -L34

  • I don't necessarily see it as hypocritical.

What part of what I said isn't backed up by scripture?

The Jews are Gods chosen people, or that we are now all saved through Jesus?

I do believe that regardless of what we think we know, God still has the final call, so hence my comment about not predicting who God chooses to go to Heaven.

  • Right he has the only call but if we can't know then why is

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life" 1 John 5:13

    in the bible?

  • I was referring to a comment by "everythingtold."

He was conflicted because he knows good people of different faiths and finds it hard to think that they are going to hell.

I agree with everything you said, but God might have other plans we don't know regarding hell and some people of other faiths. I was saying to not be so quick to say who's going to hell or not because ultimately only God knows.

I do believe that accepting Jesus will give eternal life in heaven.

  • Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one gets to the father except through him.

The Jews are God's chosen people.

  • Father with a capitol F*.

    Not lower case.

  • wow awesome playing great thanks for posting

  • (continued) Anyway, I heard this song in church all the time and felt compelled to search it. I'm an angry, frustrated person and it helps to listen to music like this sometimes. I also listened to some of your other songs and I have to say that your Mustard Seed song actually made that story/bible reference make sense for once. Thank you.

  • Catholics (not literally, obviously) and I would be willing to wager that they're on their way to eternal connection with God. Now, I consider myself a Christian but I'm a conflicted one because I can't see good Jewish people/Unitarians going to Hell just because they don't accept Christ as their savior. Each of them feels that if everyone lived like Him, the world would be a better place and every one of them lives like Him. I just have a feeling that he IS the one who came to save us.

  • Jesus came to save not to condemn. If you condemn than you shall be condemned. They probably believe in Jesus or at least forgiveness. The muslims are hardened but some also love Jesus. The point is to love one another and no hate.

  • I was raised Roman Catholic, went Atheist, realized I couldn't not believe in "something" slash believe in "nothing", went Wiccan, realized (when another witch was defending it) that it WAS very similar to the Catholic Church and encompassed a lot of the things that made me leave the Catholic Church to begin with. Now, I am not God and I do not know what is is anyone's heart, so I cannot sit there and say "Catholics are bad" because I don't know that - I know eight billion (continued later)

  • I realized that God was in me and I am the image of him.I do not condemn but save.I came to tell the world I do not condemn but save.I can see the hearts of man and what they think but I just give them love and reassure them that I dont come to codemn them.

  • I don't think Prepare Ye the Way is available.

It had; Cover me, Behold the Tabernacle of God, I will sing unto the lord while I live.

I played mine so much it wore out. It was a double LP.

  • Praise Jesus

  • Beautiful. It's good that you didn't change this hymn to a 'rock n roll' stylish type of music.

    (BTW, it's not allelui)

  • greaaaaaat!! very classic

  • Thank you! I found a lovely version of Hosea on You Tube after reading your comment. I appreciate your note Rebecca Anne!

    laurianni

  • thanks for the post. great song. we sang this song in our youth meeting in the 80's.

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I love this . Do you by chance know...let's see, I think it goes like this: Come back to me with all your heart .Don't let fear keep us apart"......something like that. You have a beautiful guitar style and voice.

  • No, I don't think I've ever heard that one. Any more clues?

  • The hymn that you are interested in is called Hosea some will refer to it as Come back to me.

  • thank you for this!

  • Lovely. Takes me back to my youth. Friends of mine in Auckland New Zealand started Scripture in Song in about 1968. 'Prepare Ye The Way' was a double LP they made in the early 70's.

  • Is the "Prepare Ye The Way" album available? Did they ever make a CD of the same music? What songs????

  • i miss the feeling of purely worshiping Him....and hearing the church preech sucks all the meaning out of this religion.

  • very beautifully played and sung! I think God has been reminding me of Matthew 6:25-34 lately.

  • Praise God!!!

  • Very nice! Beautiful! On Sundays, my family and I like to play this.

  • NICE SONG JACK JIMMY

  • I was wondering my dad dosent go to church and i do with my grandma and my dad is going to move to a different city should i go and not go to church and miss everyone or stay and go yo church and miss my dad? i only 13 so i don't know please if someone knows send me a message.

  • Whew Rob, that's a tough question. On the one hand, you want to honor your dad (Exodus 20:12). But on the other hand, if you truly want to be Jesus' disciple, God should have your supreme allegiance (see Luke 14:26). If you're wanting to stay just because of your church friends, that may or may not be a good reason to stay.

  • There are other churches you could go to and new friends to make. Please pray about it, and ask God to show you in His Word what He would have you to do. He will, if you truly want to know His will.

  • seek ye first <3

  • i miss God!!!

  • Then by all means, seek His face! He loves and misses you too!

  • This brings back memories,Roger played the guitar and Delora sang with such feeling, miss them thank you .

  • AMEN.

Makes me think of Kieth Green :) I love all of the songs he sang.

  • actuslly its spelled alleluia, but luv this song 2! good job! im in choir thats y.

  • That's the Latin spelling, not the only spelling. I just don't happen to prefer the Latin spelling of pronunciation. But I'm glad you liked my rendition anyway!

  • god bless you.

  • one of my favorite songs that my churchs praise band does!!!.... but we do it a little faster

our pastor plays the guitar... he's a little impatient hahahaha ^_^

    GOD BLESS!!!!

  • You are truely blessed. I love this song. One of my most favorite.

  • My friend, 5 stars are not enough to rate your brilliant talent... I'l just give u 5 hearts 4 it. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Peace be with you & to your household. =)

  • So beautiful!!

  • What a beutiful song truly!!

  • A truly beautiful song and a great performance of it. THank-you so much for sharing it with us. God bless you.

  • havent heard this song since i was a child... was worth the wait.

  • what a breath of fresh heavenly air! thanks for having it here! have a great one! teresa and Jen

  • thats great!!! i love to hear and sing this song !!!! it is powerful ever...thanks a lot for posting Jack..God bless.

  • Thank, you, Jack, for glorifying God in this way. What kind of guitar is that? It looks like it wants to be a lute...lovely.

  • It does, doesn't it? It's called a CraViola.

  • Thank you for the Chords. I love it. God bless.

  • this is a great song :)

  • This is a new song for me. I personally like your voice i find it pleasant and mellow. Im a drummer and taking piano recently and ive ordered a worship sheet music book and now specifically looking for this song. Ive been listening to it everyday since i found it. I love the Word, and these ones mean alot to me. I thank God for a brother like you, and the wonderful gifts he gives his children. Good job on Awake O Israel too by the way.

  • Praise the Lord! I'm so glad you are blessed by this song as I was when I first heard it some 35 years ago. Blessings on you!

  • i'm not a religious man in the slightest but this song has a great melody, your voice needs a little work but it's still a good listen. Thanks for posting

  • Yes, I'll agree I'm not the greatest singer! This song also appealed to me before I became a Christian. My sister had a copy of the original Praise LP back in the early '70s. This was one of the songs on it, and as I recall they only sang the first verse! I couldn't help but listen to that LP over and over again, even though I didn't have the slightest desire at the time to become a Christian. I even bought the album years before my conversion!

  • wow! i absolutly love this song, i am singing it in choir and i was just practicing it so i decided to look for some inspiration! you are truly that! thank you and god bless!

  • To God be the glory! Blessings on you too!

  • I've only just discovered this song. You play it so well. Would you email me the tab please

  • I don't have tab for this. My rendition has just sort of evolved over the years. The chords are C G Am Em F C G C G Am Em F C G7 C. The basic picking pattern I use is p m i p m i a m. Other than that, I just sort of pick out the notes that work during the breaks as I play. Hope that helps.

  • Thankyou!

  • You're most welcome! Blessings on you!

  • I can never get the beginning...

  • i try fingerpicking this song but can't get it this fluid. great job. great song.

  • Halleujah!

  • Awesome!!! This is one of my most favorite song!! Do you ever play it in D? I wish the cannon part in your version is longer tho, would have been much nicer :-P

    Thanks for playing!

  • When I was a wee kid we sang this to remember the bible verse in our children's choir.. I still sing it every time I hear the verse. very cool.. you're bringing back memories.

  • Nice clean guitar work. Singing is very pleasant. I really enjoyed the two I've watched. I'll be sure to check out your others. So many folks are trying to get by on glitz so it's really refreshing to see really talented people like you and MaryAnne (where I discovered you) who can perform beautifully without fireworks, etc. Reminds me of home when dad played the piano and we sang in the living room. Keep it up!

  • too beautiful.

i like the way you sung it, simple but beautiful

  • Terrific!! God bless you!

  • I love your version. I hope you get never stop blessing us with these. Adios

  • Love this guitar version. Is there a Tab availabe?

  • Beautiful song, voice & playing; This is one of my fav hymns. God Bless you all :)

  • This is also one of of my favorites.

  • Beautiful!

  • Our Worshi[ Team does this tune too. But this is like the "Gordon Lightfoot of Praise" version! I love it. Keep up His good work Jack.

  • thats gorgeous! i love that song! Ur so good on the guitar too...
