@JMZFilms Im using a Gygabyte Z68X-UD4-B3. Works great. Im using Lion, have dual dvi monitors conected on a Nvidia GTX460. Even surround sound is working without any extra kext. (Just the ones multibeast installs). The only downside is that Facetime is not working for now. But it will be fixed in the next chimera release.

and the 8 core has two and so on. and xeons are designed with a different architecture than the core i processor family.

It's only this year that Maya actually works native on Macs.

The mainstream variants have disabled features like multi cpu platform controller,i believe altered Cache and better electric efficiencies(lower watt usage). Oh and server chips traverse a more rigorous and time consuming quality control. But there are all made on the same waver. Same story with AMD.

NOTE: windows xp/vista and 7 need be installed on a totally separate drive is it blats and dominates the MBR with its own style of MBR/GPT flavour incompatible with everything else on the market so if you want windows mac linux to run together windows needs a separate hard disk for install. Mac and Linux will work happy on the same hdd. Saying that it is not impossible to have on the same drive without a soft hack but it is very tricky to overwrite the windows blating

Total rip off. You can GPT partition your hard disk and use grub2 or the latest new BURG loader from goggle. The mbr boots grub2 then allows you to load a efi environment but you must allocate a partition with a specific boot flag which in-turn grub2 detects takes control off and when you view with a part manager shows up as unknown part type. Its buggy but it works and its free because you need do some work to get it to work lol. It is getting better and i am one of the contributor to better it
